Her face contorted with anger as she saw Farwell Group's new announcement trending. The announcement explicitly blamed Aubree's personality for the annulment. How could Lucian do this?

Anetizen commented, "I've met Aubree. She's not all that great. She always looks down on others."

Another comment read, "I heard Aubree scolded the Farwell family's daughter, calling her 'Little Mute.' It makes sense now."

The more Aubree read, the darker her expression grew. Everyone was criticizing her. "It's all Roxanne's doing!" she fumed. "What right do they have to criticize me?"

Aubree was furious. Just as she was about to contact the media company to attack Roxanne, the person in charge called.

"You called at the perfect time. I want you to post—"

Before he finished, he asked, "Ms. Pearson, didn't you say our company wouldn't be affected? What's happening?"

Aubree froze. "What's wrong?"

The person's voice was low, but his anger was evident. "Farwell Group's CEO's assistant brought men to our company, showed evidence of our illegal activities, and seized the company! We're bankrupt!"

A chill ran down Aubree's spine.

"I've lost all my money! Where's the ten million you promised? Transfer it now!"

Aubree hung up. Cayden had sent men to the media company. Did Lucian know it was her? The thought made her sweat. Lucian had threatened to jail her for attacking Roxanne; he wouldn't let her off this time.

Fearful and uneasy, she saw her father push open her broken door. She hastily hid her phone.

Samuel marched in, his expression grim.

"Dad..." Aubree's voice trembled.

Glowering, Samuel fumed, "What did you do?"

Aubree shuddered, instinctively hiding the truth. "What are you—"

Samuel grabbed her neck, lifting her from the bed. "If you did nothing, why did Lucian tell me to watch you? Why did he warn me about Pearson Group facing consequences? Do you take everyone for a fool?"

Samuel's eyes were bloodshot with rage. Aubree could barely breathe. "Dad, let me go... I was wrong..."
