Samuel’s fury consumed him. “You imbecile! Didn’t I tell you not to mess with Roxanne? Why didn’t you listen? Do you want our entire family to pay the price with our lives?” His grip tightened with each passing second.

Aubree gasped for breath, struggling against him. She knocked something to the floor, creating a loud crash. Hearing the noise, Gina rushed in, assuming Aubree was throwing things in anger. Instead, she saw Samuel strangling her daughter.

“Samuel, what are you doing?”

Gina’s knees buckled. She quickly intervened, pulling Samuel away from Aubree. Aubree collapsed to the floor, clutching her neck and panting heavily.

“What happened? Wasn’t everything fine earlier? Sonya even agreed to ask Lucian for forgiveness on our behalf. Why did you lose your temper again?” Gina asked, her heart breaking for her daughter.

“Lose my temper again, you ask? Why don’t you ask this imbecile what she did? Because of her, Lucian’s furious again! Sonya’s involved, and even Mr. Elias can’t save us this time!”

Gina’s hand froze on Aubree’s back. She stared at her daughter in disbelief. “What did you do this time?”

Aubree, frantic, shouted, “I didn’t do anything wrong! That bitch asked for it! She started it!”

Samuel slapped Aubree, sending her sprawling. “You still show no remorse? You’re grounded! Don’t even think of leaving this house!”

Aubree, gloomy and clutching her cheek, muttered, “Roxanne, that bitch! I’ll never forgive her!”

Lucian kept his word. He showed the Pearson Group no mercy. Quickly, almost all of Pearson Group's business partners presented termination contracts, fearing reputational damage. Pearson Group couldn't afford the liquidated damages; they faced a massive compensation claim.

That night, the Pearson family gathered in Samuel's living room.

“What exactly did Aubree do to provoke Farwell Group, Samuel?” someone asked calmly, seeking a solution.

Samuel was too ashamed to speak. The Pearson family hadn't wholeheartedly supported Aubree and Lucian’s marriage. Initially, they welcomed the alliance with Farwell Group, but Lucian’s attitude over the years had led them to suggest dissolving the contract. They believed Lucian wouldn't abandon them due to his debt to Old Mr. Pearson. Delaying, however, risked exhausting Lucian’s patience.

Despite this, Samuel and his family clung to hope, only to have their gamble backfire spectacularly. Farwell Group ruthlessly crushed Pearson Group.

“This is all your fault!” someone scolded. “What do you plan to do now?”

Samuel forced a smile. “I’ll have Aubree apologize to all of you.”

Gina immediately had someone summon Aubree to the living room.
