Chapter 1395
Roxanne had just calmed down when his words sent a fresh blush to her cheeks. โItโs getting late. I want to shower and change. Please leave!โ
Her face, crimson with embarrassment, she struggled free of Lucianโs arms, feigning anger. Lucian frowned helplessly. โBut this is my room.โ
Roxanneโs expression froze. A quick glance around revealed her suitcase was missing. This wasn't her room.
Before she could question him, Lucian explained, โYou drank too much last night, and I didnโt have your room keycard, so I brought you here.โ
She couldnโt argue. Frowning, she surveyed the room. Her clothes from the previous night were neatly folded at the foot of the bed, still carrying the scent of alcohol. She was only in a hotel robe, the love bites on her neck and chest a stark reminder of the night before. She lacked the courage to leave wearing only this.
A wave of unease washed over her. Lucian rose, saying in a deep voice, โIโll shower first. You should rest. Iโll get you some clothes later.โ
Hesitantly, Roxanne agreed; there was no alternative.
As Lucian headed for the bathroom, the muscles in his back rippled. Roxanneโs gaze fell upon the red scratch marks on his back. Gasping, she pulled the blanket tighter, blushing deeply.
Only the sound of running water filled the room. When it stopped, Roxanne tensed, unsure how to face him.
โIโll get your clothes,โ Lucian said, opening the door and departing. Relief washed over Roxanne as he didnโt make things difficult.
Quickly, she rose and entered the bathroom. A chill greeted her; Lucian had clearly taken a cold shower. A complex expression crossed her face. Her anxieties about the previous night dissipated.
Only now, showering, did she remember Lucian had cleaned her after their intimacy. No wonder sheโd felt nothing unusual besides a sore waist that morning.
The memory brought a blush to her cheeks. She wouldn't have been as embarrassed if it had simply been the act itselfโtheyโd been intimate six years prior, and she had initiated it then. The thought of him cleaning her bodyโฆ
A knock at the door startled her. She splashed water on her face to compose herself.
โIโve left your clothes at the door. Take them when youโre ready. Iโll wait at the entrance,โ Lucianโs voice came from the other side.
Perhaps due to the realization of his actions, Roxanne found herself more sensitive to his voice. Stunned for a moment, she answered guiltily, โThank you. Iโm sorry for troubling you.โ
Though there was no movement, through the frosted glass she saw Lucian had placed her clothes on a chair before leaving.
