Chapter 1445
Roxanne's ears burned as she feigned calm, nudging Madilyn before glancing around. "Where is he?"
The question's meaning was clear. Madilyn offered a knowing smile. "It seems you're worried about him, too."
Jolted, Roxanne lowered her voice. "It was a casual question. Didn't you mention the helicopter belonged to him?"
Understanding Roxanne perfectly, Madilyn saw her friend's embarrassment and decided to change the subject. "Don't worry. I'm bringing you to see him, aren't I?"
Roxanne frowned. "Who says I'm anxious?"
Madilyn erupted in laughter. The three children, engrossed in the helicopter's design, approached curiously.
"Aunt Madilyn, what's so funny?" Benny tugged at Madilyn's sleeve.
Composing herself, Madilyn noted Roxanne's reproachful look and smoothly shifted the topic. "Nothing, really. Enjoying the helicopter?"
The children nodded vigorously. "We are!" Then, they revealed Archie's secret: "Archie says he wants to buy us a bigger helicopter next time!"
Madilyn's laughter erupted again; this time, Roxanne joined in. Seeing Archie's embarrassed expression, however, Roxanne stifled her laughter, tousling his hair. "You'll definitely be able to do it, Archie. Don't forget to let me ride in it next time!"
Archie smiled, nodding obediently. Beaming, Madilyn added, "No need to wait. Your daddy already has a bigger helicopter; it's just unsuitable for city flying." She had overheard Cayden asking Lucian which model to use when she requested the helicopter.
The children's eyes lit up with anticipation. Roxanne, however, was shaken by Madilyn's reference to Lucian, her heart tightening instinctively.
Madilyn clarified, "That's not my phrasing. Mr. Farwell acknowledged the children online himself."
Roxanne's tension eased, and she smiled awkwardly at the children. Archie and Benny, having already known, weren't surprised. The children were always well-cared for with Madilyn around.
After a short flight, the helicopter landed on a hotel rooftop. Madilyn guided the children down. As they emerged, they saw Lucian waiting, his suit and leather shoes contrasting with his wind-tossed hair. His concerned, guilt-ridden gaze was fixed on the cabin door.
"I've brought them back. Don't cause them any more trouble!" Madilyn warned.
Lucian, however, focused solely on Roxanne and the children. "Are you all right?" He approached, scrutinizing her.
After a glance at Madilyn, Roxanne maintained an indifferent expression despite her embarrassment. "I'm fine. Thanks to Madilyn. Howeverโ"
"I only suggested the idea; Mr. Farwell handled the details," Madilyn quickly interjected, refusing to take credit.
