Chapter 1464

Jeffrey, Pippa, and Ophelia brought Benny to the infirmary while the other teachers remained to supervise the remaining children. Benny sobbed uncontrollably, creating a tense atmosphere.

"Doctor, how is he?" Jeffrey asked anxiously once the examination was complete. He worried silently about the consequences of an incident occurring under his watch, especially now that Benny was Mr. Farwell's son. Beside him, Archie and Estella looked to the doctor with earnest concern.

The doctor retrieved a medical kit to treat Benny's scratches. "The abrasions are superficial," he explained, "but I believe he may have bruised cartilage. A hospital visit for a thorough examination is advisable."

Jeffrey's vision swam; he nearly stumbled. Archie's expression was grim as he led Estella from the infirmary to call Roxanne. He understood the seriousness of the doctor's recommendation.

Roxanne, engrossed in research in her laboratory, initially ignored the incoming call. "Dr. Jarvis, it's Archie," someone announced.

This prompted Roxanne to pause her experiment and answer. Archie, without preamble, blurted, "Mommy, Benny's hurt. I think he needs to go to the hospital. Are you free to come?"

Roxanne was shocked. Archie's voice remained calm. "If you're busy, I'll call Mr. Farwell."

"No. Wait for me. I'll be there immediately," Roxanne responded, regaining her composure. "Is your teacher with you? Give her your watch so I can speak with her."

Reassured, Archie gave his watch to Pippa. Roxanne quickly inquired about the chosen hospital before hanging up. She then informed Linda and rushed from the institute. She wasn't intentionally excluding Lucian; she simply believed her medical expertise was more beneficial in this situation.

Back at the infirmary, Pippa and Jeffrey prepared to transport Benny. Ophelia inquired, "Should we all go? What about the other children? Should I tell the other teachers?"

Pippa replied, "I can manage. You should return to the class."

Jeffrey insisted, "Ms. Ward and I will go. You can leave now."

Ophelia feigned further concern before departing. Upon returning to the playground, the children were already engaged in a new game under their teachers' supervision. Discreetly, Ophelia retrieved Benny's shoesโ€”which she had previously hiddenโ€”cleaned the oil stains, and neatly replaced them. She rejoined the children with a composed smile.

The children inquired about Benny's injury. While outwardly worried, Ophelia felt a surge of internal satisfaction. "I'm not sure," she replied, "but be careful to avoid a similar accident." The children readily agreed.
