Chapter 1528: Wakes Up Late

She could have refused Lucian's request to help him dry his hair. However, his tone was so natural, as if it were perfectly normal. We were sleeping in the same room; he'd prepared matching pajamas, and I dried his hair. For some reason, Roxanne couldn't justify refusing him. He had prepared everything flawlessly. Consequently, everything proceeded smoothly.

The next morning, Roxanne felt utterly exhausted. She checked the time: eight o'clock. An hour later than her alarm. She endured the stiffness in her joints as she retrieved her phone to check the alarm. It had already gone off; Lucian had obviously silenced it while she slept.

Roxanne sat up, wincing at the ache in her waist. They had beenโ€ฆ enthusiastic the previous night.

Just as she was about to get out of bed, Catalina's voice called from outside the room. "Ms. Jarvis, are you awake?"

Roxanne pressed a hand to her forehead. Any adult could guess what had transpired, given how late she woke.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Mr. Farwell asked me to wake you at eight. Breakfast is ready. You can come down now," Catalina replied.

Roxanne agreed and quickly freshened up, despite her aching body. A short while later, she emerged to find Catalina waiting.

"Where's Lucian?" Roxanne asked, puzzled. Knowing him, he would usually have woken her personally.

Catalina replied helplessly, "Mr. Elias woke up early and told Mr. Farwell he had urgent office work. Mr. Farwell couldn't refuse, so he left."

Mr. Elias was already awake? Roxanne frowned. "Where is he now?"

"Downstairs," Catalina answered.

As they spoke, they reached the stairs. Roxanne heard the children playing boisterously downstairs and felt a pang of unease. Would Elias be negatively impacted by the children's lively noise?

The thought spurred her to hurry. Suddenly, she heard Benny's childish voice: "Grandpa, you're doing it wrong! It should go like this! Look at the instructions!"

Elias's voice followed immediately. "Oh, I see. I've never done this before, so I'm not familiar with it. I understand now."

Roxanne's bewilderment increased, accelerating her steps.

Reaching the bottom, she saw Elias playing Lego with the three children. Seeing Benny hug Elias sent a wave of panic through her. She quickly called out, "Archie, Benny!"

Despite hearing her, the children showed no inclination to leave Elias. They merely turned to greet her with smiles.

"Mommy! You woke up so late! I had no one to play with! Luckily, Grandpa was up!"

Roxanne's cheeks flushed crimson at their words, spoken in Elias's presence. She stammered an excuse. "I woke up ages ago, but I was on a call upstairs!"

Then, she meekly greeted Elias. "Mr. Farwell, good morning."

Elias smiled and nodded.
