Chapter 1551: Watching Us

Roxanne and Lucian shopped extensively at the mall. Meanwhile, Shawn sat at a window table in a nearby restaurant, unnoticed by the couple. A thoughtful expression on his face, he watched them intently. "If I remember correctly," he mused, "that woman with Lucian is the legendary Roxanne Jarvis. Isn't she his ex-wife?"

A man approached and sat opposite him. Shawn asked in a low voice, "What have you found? Who is that woman?"

His assistant produced a document. "Our investigation shows Lucian's ex-wife left him six years ago and recently returned to the country. Shortly after her return, she became involved with Lucian again. It seems he's been pursuing her," the assistant reported.

A mischievous glint appeared in Shawn's eyes as he stared at Roxanne. "Her? She's attractive, but Lucian has plenty of beautiful women around him. Why is he pursuing her?" Lucian didn't seem like the type to be so persistent.

"Ms. Jarvis is Harvey Lambert's top disciple. After returning, she took a leading role at one of Harvey's research institutes, undertaking several significant projects. She also made a name for herself during the Damaris family's medical consultation. She has considerable achievements in the medical field," the assistant explained.

Shawn narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Roxanne. She sounds far more capable than Aubree. He licked his lips, his curiosity piqued. I wonder what she's like... Wait, she has children with Lucian, doesn't she? I'm not interested in what Lucian's already had.

He turned back to his assistant. "What else?"

The assistant hesitated. "I heard Ms. Jarvis's institute is collaborating with the Damaris Group on a new cancer treatment drug. Preliminary results are promising. The information is confidential, but if it's true, this drug could be a world first, making them incredibly wealthy."

As the assistant finished, he noticed Shawn's knowing smile. Confused, he looked at his superior.

Shawn's eyes held a mocking glint. "I wondered if Farwell would truly fall for a woman. Clearly not. He's using her to gain control of the new drug. With Farwell Group's resources, they'll monopolize the market and make a fortune!"

The assistant's expression changed. That's the difference between me and the wealthy. They date to make money!

Shawn watched Roxanne and Lucian leave a children's clothing store and enter an elevator. "I've seen enough. Let's go. It's time to act," he told his assistant.

The assistant nodded in understanding, and the two men left the restaurant.

Meanwhile, Roxanne frowned, trying to recall something from their shopping trip. Lucian noticed her troubled expression. "Are you tired?" he asked solicitously.

Roxanne shook her head, looking uneasy. "I felt like someone was watching us."
