Chapter 1552: A Movie Date

Lucian furrowed his brows, glancing at his phone. "Nothing seems amiss," he murmured.

"Are you sure?" Roxanne asked, hesitating before shaking her head. "Maybe it was my imagination. Thinking about it, nothing weird happened."

Lucian embraced her, his voice deep and reassuring. "If you feel something's wrong, tell me. Don't be afraid. I'm with you, and I'll protect you."

Roxanne smiled, leaning against his chest. The elevator reached the mall's top floor, and Lucian led her toward the movie theater.

Roxanne expected to buy tickets, but Lucian walked directly to the entrance, speaking briefly with the usher before returning to her. She paused, then followed. "Don't we need tickets?"

The usher smiled. "This gentleman has booked the entire theater for the evening. Please let us know when you're ready to begin."

Roxanne was stunned. Before she could fully process it, Lucian led her inside. They were alone. Immediately, staff began serving drinks and snacks, one even asking if they were ready to start the movie.

Lucian glanced at Roxanne, deferring the decision to her. She felt a momentary flashback to the men's boutique. Thankfully, the staff were less enthusiastic than the sales attendant.

"Please start the movie now," she said awkwardly.

The staff nodded and left. The screen lit up.

Roxanne hadn't known about the movie earlier that day, let alone which film Lucian had chosen. Anticipation filled her as the opening sequence played. Lucian watched her intently, gauging her reaction.

It was a romance film with a medical theme. While appreciating his thoughtfulness, Roxanne found herself losing interest in the plot.

"If you don't like it, I can have them change the movie," Lucian whispered.

"That's not necessary. Let's just watch it," Roxanne replied, smiling. This wonderful date was not something she wanted to spoil. Yet, she also withheld something โ€“ the private theater lacked the ambiance of a typical movie date.

Roxanne watched, discussing medical aspects of the film with Lucian, who listened intently. She wasn't sure if the scenes were inherently flawed or if Lucian's attention skewed her perspective, but annoyance grew. The movie's medical inaccuracies were infuriating.

Frustrated, she abandoned her explanations, focusing on the popcorn instead. The movie was terrible, but the popcorn was excellent.

After the movie, they drove home. "Did the movie contain a lot of inaccuracies?" Lucian asked, his tone puzzled. "I can pull it from release or pay to reshoot it."
