Chapter 1648: Can Give Them Away

Seconds later, Jack's gaze hardened as he turned to his assistant. "Call Lucian and arrange a meeting with him tonight!"

Kevin nodded, relieved to escape the tense atmosphere. However, before he could leave, Jack barked, "Stop! Make the call here! I want to hear Lucian concede to my demands!"

Head bowed, Kevin, shuddering, quickly called Lucian. The call was answered after a few rings.

"Hello, Mr. Farwell. I'm Mr. Damaris's assistant," Kevin said.

Lucian, on the other end, pulled his car over. "Has Jack Damaris made a decision?"

Kevin had placed his phone on speaker. Jack's expression darkened when he heard Lucian use his full name. Kevin, sensing his boss's displeasure, proceeded cautiously. "Mr. Damaris wishes to meet you tonight. I'll text you the time and location. Is that acceptable?"

"Sure," Lucian replied readily.

Kevin ended the call and booked a private dining room. He texted Lucian the details. Instead of replying, Lucian started his car and drove to the hotel.

At nine o'clock, both men arrived almost simultaneously.

"Punctual, Mr. Farwell!" Jack remarked, a hint of flattery in his voice.

Lucian remained impassive, striding into the hotel without a word. Jack glared at his retreating figure, then smiled. "You won't be so smug for long, Lucian Farwell!" he muttered before entering.

Lucian was already settled in the room when Jack arrived. Grinning, Jack sat opposite him and instructed Kevin to order food.

"No, thank you. I'm not here for dinner," Lucian stated flatly. "Tell me what you want, Mr. Damaris."

Jack summoned Kevin and gestured for the documents. Kevin produced a folder.

"Take a look, Mr. Farwell," Jack urged, sliding the folder across. "These are ten Farwell Group subsidiaries I've selected. I wonder if you'd consider parting with them."

To Jack's surprise, Lucian merely glanced at the cover and nodded. "It's an honor for these companies to attract your interest, Mr. Damaris."

Jack pressed his advantage. "Then I'd like to buy all the shares at half the market price. Would that be agreeable, Mr. Farwell?"

Lucian stared at Jack. "If you like, I can even give them to you, Mr. Damaris."

Lucian thought: Jack's ambition extends beyond these ten companies. This was a test; I wonder how far he's willing to go. He steeled himself for what was to come.
