Mission: To Remarry

Seeing the bodyguards lightly grasping the boxes without expression, Roxanne was overwhelmed with puzzlement. "This is"

Lucian responded, "Lego. I heard the kids saying they wanted to play with it yesterday, so I got my assistant to buy some for them last night. There are also some challenging puzzles inside. I think they'll like it."

Roxanne was immediately at a loss. She shifted her gaze back to the cold-looking, muscular bodyguards. Somehow, she felt the vibe they gave off didn't match their cargo.

"Let them bring the boxes inside," Lucian gestured, indicating the bodyguards should enter the house.

Roxanne hesitated before moving aside to let the men put down the boxes.

Concurrently, the three children in the dining area, hearing the noise, ran out. Archie and Benny's eyes lit up as they stared intently at the boxes. Estella twirled around Lucian once before joining her brothers.

Wonderstruck, Benny pestered Roxanne to open the boxes. He hadn't expected Lego that morning, having only requested it the night before. Moreover, the boxes also contained limited-edition puzzles he'd wanted but hadn't dared ask Roxanne to buy because they were too expensive.

Even Archie couldn't contain his excitement.

"Are these for us?" Benny asked the man at the door, his eyes gleaming.

Lucian nodded quietly.

Upon receiving confirmation, Benny cheered sweetly and smiled brightly. "Thank you, Mr. Farwell!"

Archie, more reserved, simply curled the corners of his lips upward in thanks.

"I'm happy you guys like them," Lucian said, nodding.

Their interaction caused Roxanne's forehead to furrow with worry. Lucian, sensing she disapproved of his gifting the children without her prior knowledge, casually mentioned, "Estella loves these toys too. The three of you can play together." He was implying the gifts were primarily for her daughter, and Archie and Benny were merely beneficiaries.

Roxanne, hearing this, acquiesced, leaving the toys.

His mission accomplished, Lucian left for the office. Roxanne briefly put away the boxes and, after leaving the children in Pippa's care at school, headed to the research institute.

Upon entering her office, her phone rang. Seeing Harvey's caller ID, her eyes lit up, and she answered with a smile.

Harvey's casual voice greeted her. "Are you busy?"

Roxanne shook her head. "No. I just arrived. Anything wrong? It's been a while since you called."

Since returning to the country, their contact had been minimal. Roxanne usually called to update him on the research institute's progress; his replies were typically curt due to his busy research schedule. This was the first time he'd initiated a call.

"Actually, I need your help," Harvey said, getting straight to the point. "There's a project I need you to oversee research and development on. I'll forward the details shortly. Take a look."

Roxanne readily agreed. After briefly discussing the project, she anxiously inquired about his return. "When are you coming back? Let me pick you up."

Harvey checked his schedule. "Probably not soon. I'll let you know before I return."

Roxanne replied with a curt acknowledgment.
