Chapter 1738: She Is Finally Awake

Meanwhile, inside the hospital's top-floor ward, Madilyn waited anxiously with Peregrine, Linda, and Jonathan. They had successfully created the antidote at the last moment. After Roxanne consumed it, her readings normalized, but she remained unconscious.

"Aunt Madilyn, is the antidote working?" Archie asked anxiously, his patience wearing thin.

Despite Roxanne's deep coma, Madilyn maintained a brave front. "There's no reason it shouldn't. She formulated it herself, and her readings are improving." She sought reassurance from Peregrine, who nodded with conviction, easing her worry.

"But why hasn't Mommy woken up yet?" Estella sniffled, her large eyes filled with anxiety. Madilyn comforted her, "Your mommy's tired and needs to rest. She'll wake up soon."

The children, having waited a long time, were skeptical. Flustered, Madilyn suggested, "Why don't you talk to your mommy? Your voices might help her wake up." It was better than letting their imaginations run wild.

The children obediently surrounded the bed. Estella pleaded, clutching Roxanne's hand, "Mommy, wake up. I miss you..." Benny whispered beside Roxanne's ear, "Mommy, didn't you say you shouldn't lie to kids? You promised you'd come home tonight." Archie watched silently, his faith unwavering.

Suddenly, noticing a slight movement in Roxanne's eyes, Archie excitedly grabbed Madilyn's hand. "Aunt Madilyn, is Mommy waking up?"

He led Madilyn to Roxanne's side, followed by Peregrine, Linda, and Jonathan. As silence fell, Roxanne slowly opened her eyes.

"Mommy!" the children cried in unison.

Madilyn's eyes welled with tears. Relief washed over her. It took Roxanne a few seconds to fully regain consciousness. Seeing everyone there brought a weak smile to her face. "I'm sorry to have worried you all."

"All that matters is that you're awake," Madilyn replied, wiping away tears. Roxanne's heart warmed at her friend's reaction.
