“Indeed, the Damaris family possessed numerous valuable assets,” Jonathan began, summarizing Jack Damaris’ holdings. “Real estate, investment firms, and aesthetic medicine were his primary investments, but the core of his empire was his medicinal herb supply chain. He owned thirteen or fourteen medicinal herb trading companies, encompassing nearly every type of herb from north to south. He also held several certifications for Western medical technology production.”

As he spoke, a question long nagging at him finally escaped. “I don’t understand his relentless pursuit of success. Considering the scale of his business and its future prospects, the Damaris family’s assets would have easily multiplied many times over in a few years. He could have amassed hundreds of billions.”

Lucian’s gaze was dark and serious. “He was right, though. He knew those businesses were merely cash flow, not his true asset. While his medicinal herb supply chain was exceptionally strong, without continued research and development, it would eventually be overtaken. From the beginning, his goal was clear: to acquire Roxanne’s research team and technology, using both cunning and strategy.”

Jonathan frowned, considering this revelation. After a moment, comprehension dawned. “Lucian, did you bring me here to ensure I take control of the Damaris family's medicinal herb supply chain?”

Lucian nodded. “You’ve been a great help. The Damaris family's supply chain should belong to you. The Queen family is already in this industry, and merging will be expedited. This will also eliminate Roxanne’s supply concerns. It’s mutually beneficial.”

“I accept,” Jonathan replied. “However, I have a request. My sister deserves credit for persuading Mr. Lomax; she should oversee the Damaris supply chain. Otherwise, our previous collaborators may object.”

Frieda’s words had resonated with him. While she possessed considerable business acumen, her abilities had been consistently overlooked. This time, her contribution couldn't be ignored. He would ensure she received due recognition. As for Lucian's motives, he would observe carefully, ready to address any potential issues.

“That’s your decision,” Lucian said, his tone blunt. “Since I’m entrusting it to the Queen family, you can manage it as you see fit. I won’t interfere. Your sister is capable, though she hasn’t been given the chance to prove it.”

He poured Jonathan another cup of coffee. “How is Old Mr. Queen? If there are any problems, Roxanne can examine him.”

Jonathan grinned. “He’s doing wonderfully. He goes fishing daily; he’s practically rejuvenated! No need to bother Roxanne.”

Lucian smiled. It was convenient having a skilled doctor for a wife. Then, his brow arched playfully. “Speaking of which, I’m settled. When are you going to consider marriage?”

Jonathan was taken aback. Lucian had already secured his own partner and was now teasing the single life.

Embarrassment tinged his chuckle. “There’s no one I’m interested in yet. If I find someone, I’ll certainly cherish her. You needn’t worry, Lucian.”
