Chapter 1777: Created Interference

โ€œIโ€™ll say it again,โ€ Sonya declared, โ€œthose two boys arenโ€™t Farwells. Roxanne is a master liar. First, she convinced Lucian they were his godsons; now, suddenly, theyโ€™re his biological sons. Sheโ€™s shameless! How could she even pretend?โ€

Sonyaโ€™s temper flared at the thought.

Elektra looked shocked. โ€œThat canโ€™t be true. Ms. Jarvis doesnโ€™t seem that kind of person. Is there a misunderstanding?โ€

โ€œNo misunderstanding,โ€ Sonya emphasized, frowning. โ€œHow could you think Roxanne is innocent? Youโ€™ve misjudged her. Sheโ€™s extremely cunning and ruthless.โ€

Sonya worried Elektra was too naive, deceived by Roxanneโ€™s faรงade. Initially, Elektra, witnessing Lucian and Roxanneโ€™s affection, had felt hopeless about her own chances with Lucian. However, Sonyaโ€™s rejection and hatred for Roxanne offered a glimmer of hope. She had previously confessed her feelings to Lucian, but heโ€™d been preoccupied with the family business. Hope resurfaced after Lucian and Roxanne divorced, but Aubreeโ€™s proactive pursuit dashed those hopes again. After dating others, she realized no one compared to Lucian. Suppressing her feelings for so long left her restless.

Noticing Elektraโ€™s daze, Sonya assumed disbelief and added, โ€œI know your feelings for Lucian. When he told me heโ€™d marry you, I saw your delight.โ€

Elektra smiled bitterly; Sonya had hit the mark. โ€œI was surprised! I thought my time had come! But a fake marriage certificate? Ridiculous!โ€

Elektra fought to conceal her emotions, a habit honed over years.

โ€œAh!โ€ Sonya exclaimed, โ€œif only you were my daughter-in-law! But if youโ€™re interested, Iโ€™ll fully support you!โ€ Sonyaโ€™s frankness had drawn out Elektraโ€™s true feelings. Any interference with Roxanne pleased her.

โ€œMrs. Farwell, thank you,โ€ Elektra replied, finally calming her turbulent emotions. โ€œBut matters of the heart canโ€™t be forced. Iโ€™m doing well, hoping to utilize what I learned overseas. Ms. Jarvis is outstanding; how could I compete?โ€

Elias had been standing outside the hall for some time, overhearing the conversation. He coughed twice before entering briskly.

โ€œElektra, youโ€™re here.โ€

โ€œMr. Farwell,โ€ Elektra replied smoothly. โ€œI brought Mrs. Farwell some supplements. I also bought gifts overseas, but delivery is slow.โ€

Elias nodded, praising her thoughtfulness. โ€œWhy not stay for dinner?โ€

โ€œThank you, Mr. Farwell, but I must leave. Please visit us when you can. My parents miss you both.โ€

Having gathered the information she needed, Elektra departed after pleasantries.
