Chapter 1804: Interesting Expression
Once Lucian finished eating, he brought Roxanne to the Farwell main residence. She had visited six years prior, as Ethan's granddaughter-in-law. Entering the courtyard, they found Elias tending the lush greenery. Seeing Lucian with Roxanne, Elias greeted her warmly.
โHello, Mr. Farwell,โ Roxanne replied, feeling at ease with Eliasโs kind demeanor toward the boys.
โDad, I'm here for the paternity test results,โ Lucian said, offering to help Elias. Elias waved him off, a knowing smile playing on his lips as he glanced at Lucian. โYour mother has been waiting a long time. It seems the results align with her wishes.โ
The implication was clear, even to Roxanne. Lucian understood Eliasโs subtle warning and simply nodded. โIโll take care of it.โ
They entered the living room where Sonya sat, greeting Lucian with a smile but ignoring Roxanne. โTake a seat. The person from the testing facility will be here soon,โ Sonya said, covertly observing Roxanneโs reaction. Roxanne remained calm, seemingly unconcerned about the outcome. She knew, after all, who her childrenโs father was. Her confidence was absolute.
However, Sonya eagerly anticipated Roxanneโs reaction upon learning the boys were not Lucianโs. Sonya made Lucian coffee but not Roxanne, instead saying, โMs. Jarvis, youโre sitting quite far away. Please help yourself.โ
Roxanne replied, โItโs okay. I donโt drink coffee.โ Lucian immediately glared at Sonya before pouring Roxanne a cup. Sonya visibly frowned.
A tense silence hung in the air until Clinton arrived, carrying the report. โHello, Mr. and Mrs. Farwell. Is thisโฆ the legendary Dr. Jarvis?โ he exclaimed, revealing his excitement. His dream of becoming a doctor had been thwarted, leading him to the bioassay industry. Despite reading about Lucian and Roxanne online, he yearned to meet her.
Sonya curtly interrupted, sensing Clintonโs distraction, โAre the results in? Let Lucian see them first.โ
Snapping back to attention, Clinton presented Lucian with the report. Lucian skipped to the final page, which read: โUnmatched genes. Mutation factors excluded.โ The results were undeniable: Lucian was not the boys' father.
Stunned, Lucianโs gaze darkened as he turned to Clinton. โAre you certain you have the correct report? Are you sure the samples were accurate?โ
Clinton, terrified by Lucianโs imposing aura, glanced nervously at Sonya. Lucian, however, noticed everything. Meanwhile, Sonya watched Roxanne intently, anticipating shock, disbelief, or anger. But Roxanneโs face remained impassive. Unsurprised, she simply looked calmly at Lucian.
