Chapter 1810: Do You Have the Patience?

“Lucian, Roxanne, I’m heading back now. I’ll visit the children again another day,” Sonya called from the second floor, but received no reply. A bitter smile touched her lips. She deserved this.

Surprisingly, Roxanne, fresh from bathing Estella, hurried into the courtyard, still drying her hands. “Mrs. Farwell, it’s late; please drive carefully. You can bring Archie and Benny out to play next time.” Her sincerity was evident.

Sonya, momentarily stunned, smiled. “Certainly. I’ll come again.”

After seeing Sonya off, Roxanne returned upstairs, gathering pajamas and towels for Archie and Benny. Lucian emerged from the study, wiping sweat from her forehead. “Darling, you’ve worked hard.”

“I only helped Estella. It’s nothing. She won’t let me help much longer!”

“No, I mean Mom. Thank you for being so kind to her.” Lucian’s gaze held Roxanne captive.

“Honestly, I still can’t forgive her. But I want to set a good example for the children, especially since she’s good to them. Perhaps she’ll become a wonderful grandmother someday!”

Lucian embraced her. “Daddy, Mommy, you’re hugging again! I want a hug too!” Estella’s voice interrupted, squeezing between them.

Meanwhile, Sonya arrived home to find Elias returning from a chess game. Learning of her visit, he felt relieved. He believed Sonya wasn't inherently cruel, merely bad-tempered, narrow-minded, and stubborn. He blamed himself for her flaws, for never directly confronting them.

“Did you see the children? Did you apologize?” He noticed her calmer demeanor.

Sonya nodded. “I saw them. Archie and Benny loved the toys; thanks to Cayden.” She briefly recounted the events, then fell silent, anticipating his criticism.

Instead, Elias looked at her gently. “I’ll ask Lucian tomorrow not to pursue you to Epea. But you must change. You’ve hurt Roxanne deeply, and forgiveness won’t be easy. Do you have the patience?”

Sonya was silent for a long moment before speaking. “I’ve had a bad temper for years, but you’ve always been patient. Thank you, Elias.” Her voice was filled with warmth.

Elias took her hand. A car arrived, and Elektra’s voice announced her presence. Her parents had returned from their hometown with gifts. A dubious look crossed Elias’ face.

Sonya, worried about her puffy eyes, hastily smiled. “It’s unsafe to drive this late. You could have come tomorrow. What a coincidence, I was planning a face mask.” She retreated to her room, returning with a mask in place.
