Chapter 1824: Interesting Encounter

Frieda left the Queen residence without a backward glance after packing her belongings. Their parents considered persuading Jonathan to forgive his sister, but Jonathan solemnly retorted, โ€œI didn't drive her away. She knew she was guilty, and that's why she left. Also, please stop spoiling her. If not for Lucian's dismissal, our entire family would have been ruined by her!โ€

A wave of frustration washed over him, and he stood to leave. He drove with the car window down, letting the cold wind buffet his face. He craved alcohol, but had no suitable companion. Lucian wouldn't refuse, but Jonathan didn't want to interrupt his family time. Cayden would have been a good choice, were he not so busy. After some contemplation, Jonathan realized he had few close friends. He'd been too serious in recent years, every decision carefully calculated to propel the Queen family to rival the Farwell Group. They were now powerful, expanding beyond medicinal herbs into other fields with Lucian's help; Lucian consistently offered Jonathan investment opportunitiesโ€”things his sister never understood.

He stopped his car on a bridge, exiting to gaze at the distant river. The cold breeze gradually calmed him; Jonathan was adept at composing himself. As he turned, he saw a car crash into the rear of his.

A loud bang echoed, followed by a woman's terrified scream. Jonathan checked his Mercedes-Benz; the damage was minimal. The woman, however, seemed terrified, her screams continuing for some time. He watched quietly until she emerged from her car, approaching with an apologetic expression. She was slender, lightly made-up, and appeared to work in an office. Examining the damage, Jonathan's car was largely unscathed, but hers had a crushed bumper.

โ€œI'm so sorry, sir! I've only recently started driving, and I just bought this car. I saw your car parked, and I wanted to turn, but there were other carsโ€ฆ I panicked, soโ€ฆโ€

She looked up, then froze. "He's so handsome!" she thought. "Attractive features, a strong profile, and those slightly gloomy eyesโ€ฆ any woman would notice." She was suddenly glad for the accident. "Sir, I'm Coralie Crawford. Let's file a police report and settle this properly. I'll pay for the damage.โ€

Jonathan waved dismissively. โ€œIt's fine. No need for the police. You're at fault, but I shouldn't have parked there either. Let's just cover our own costs.โ€ He checked to ensure she was alright, then turned to leave.

Coralie's heart pounded. She wouldn't let this encounter slip away. โ€œSir, to avoid misunderstandings, let's exchange numbers. I'm worried you might change your mind,โ€ she offered reasonably.

Jonathan frowned. โ€œMiss, I said I shouldn't have parked there, but you hit my car. You're at fault. There won't be any misunderstandings. I have somewhere to be.โ€

He entered his car and drove away. Coralie stood for a moment, then smiled. โ€œA mysterious man! You won't get rid of me that easily. I memorized your license plate.โ€
