Chapter 1890: Facing Him Alone
Elektra was a VIP at the five-star hotel. When franchisees arrived for negotiations, she always booked their accommodations there. The receptionist, therefore, knew her well. Elektra asked if Christina was present; the receptionist nodded.
Assuming Christina was still in the same room, Elektra didn't ask further questions and immediately entered the elevator. Arriving on the twenty-eighth floor, she hurried to room 2808 and rang the doorbell.
The door creaked open, revealing someone standing inside. Elektra was stunned by the person's face; her expression froze. She felt as if the blood had drained from her body. Unable to speak, her lips quivered, refusing to move.
It was Lucian! She felt as if struck by lightning, various thoughts racing through her head. What is happening? Why is Lucian here? Has he been cheating on Roxanne with Christina? No, that's impossible! Even a fool can see how much Lucian loves Roxanne. Did he catch Christina red-handed? Did Christina tell him about the plan?
Noticing Elektra's bewilderment and terror, Lucian inclined his head. Still doubtful, he narrowed his eyes and said, "So, it's you!"
Elektra's eyes widened; she was on the verge of a breakdown. She shook her head slightly, her lips finally parting, but she couldn't find the words.
"Looks like it's really you," Lucian said, disappointment evident in his eyes. He opened the door wider and stepped back into the room. "Come in. Explain yourself!"
Elektra felt as if a thousand daggers pierced her heart. She was filled with regret and frustration. Lucian had never looked at her like that before. The disappointment in his eyes meant everything they had shared, their childhood friendship, had vanished. Their relationship was over. She had thought her strong mentality was unbreakable, but it was shattered. Only then did she realize how much Lucian meant to her.
Tears streamed down her cheeks. She knew she was finished. This was her worst nightmare.
"Don't worry. Christina has fled. However, I think I've figured out what happened," Lucian said, his tone emotionless.
Elektra felt numb, unable to enter the room and face him. Lucian sat on the couch, arms folded, leaning slightly forward, lost in thought, piecing things together.
"So, you were working with Christina, adding harmful substances to the product. What was your motive?" Lucian glanced at Elektra, his gaze calm despite her sobs.
Elektra couldn't answer. She'd considered the worst-case scenario, but never expected to face Lucian alone. His confusion was understandable; Flora Verba Group's success most benefited her. Yet, she was the one who destroyed everything.
