Richard and Mila, Elektra's parents, rushed to the building. Roxanne had already descended from the railing and was squatting, hands wrapped around her legs. Her expression was blank. After a long silence, she spoke.

“Dad, Mom, I’m sorry for worrying you. I can never atone for what I’ve done, but I will live and strive to make things right, step by step, for the rest of my life.”

Roxanne’s words were a wake-up call for Elektra. Seeking death is just running away from my responsibilities. The only way I can apologize is through actions.

Half an hour later, Flora Verba Group’s senior management announced Elektra’s resignation as CEO. She was no longer with the company; it was her own decision, born of shame. Roxanne, now a director, reduced Elektra’s initial thirty percent shareholding to twenty percent, transferring it to Richard.

That evening, Elektra confessed to her crimes at the police station. Her lawyer argued for a reduced sentence, citing the unsuccessful nature of her attempted crime and the lack of severe harm to society. The Lane family subsequently announced a two-hundred-million donation to the fire victims, specifically for the treatment of those with facial burns.

Lucian and Roxanne were unconcerned with the court's verdict. However, Richard later called Lucian to apologize and inform him of Elektra’s detainment.

“Lucian, I’m grateful to you and Ms. Jarvis. Elektra would have jumped if Ms. Jarvis hadn’t intervened. She understands her fault and will make amends. Thank you for keeping our shares; otherwise, we’d be ruined. We’re truly sorry…” Richard’s voice broke.

Lucian offered a brief, reassuring response.

Elektra’s ordeal ended, but Christina remained missing. Despite being listed as a suspect and a warrant issued, her Hawenese identity complicated the search. Lucian immediately instructed Cayden to find her.

After putting the children to bed, Roxanne found Lucian looking grim. The danger persisted while Christina remained at large. The woman had planned meticulously, and Roxanne had narrowly escaped.

Roxanne’s voice broke through Lucian’s thoughts. “Lucian, I want to discuss something.”

She revealed her plan to make Jonathan the new CEO and transfer ten percent of the company’s shares—five billion—to him. She had no hesitation, believing his capabilities were worth far more.

“All right, but I’ll have to think about it. After all, Jonathan is one of my most trusted right-hand men,” Lucian teased.

“I know, but he only needs to build a core team. Elektra’s resignation will cause suspicion. He just needs to reassure everyone. Can’t you just loan him to me?” Roxanne pouted.

Lucian pulled her into his arms and immediately agreed.
