Chapter 1933: Proud of James

Yennefer's eyes were soft, her expression loving. She reached out to caress James' face. Her consciousness had finally returned.

"Mom! Mom, are you okay?" James exclaimed, delightedly assessing her demeanor. The malicious aura had vanished completely.

Yennefer nodded, smiling. "James, I've heard all about your secret."

"Mom, you knew what happened earlier?" James asked, startled. He wondered if she'd heard his conversation with Aunt Sheba.

Yennefer nodded. "Yes, I heard your conversation with Sheba, and I saw it happen. It wasn't like this before. Previously, I felt locked in a dark cage, unable to see or hear, with no escape. But this time, I heard your voice! I panicked, trying to break free. The cage simply vanished. Even though I could see you, I couldn't move! I think it was because Sheba knew she was wrong, and she released me."

Jones, followed by Roxanne and Lucian, entered after hearing Yennefer's voice.

Yennefer smiled at them before recounting the events of her illness. Her consciousness had returned voluntarily, without medicine or treatment.

"Jones, James," she said calmly, "I can feel Sheba disappearing from my mind. I think I'll be fine now. I lost my mind before, perhaps because of our strong telepathy as twins. I subconsciously identified with Sheba, believing she died unjustly. So many years have passed. It's time to stop. I'm sorry, James. You tried so hard to heal me all these years. You're the best son."

Seeing their continued worry, Yennefer consoled them. Her gaze fell on James, and a happy smile spread across her face. I could never ask for a better son! she thought.

"Anyway," she said, "you can all rest tonight. Nothing will make me lose my mind again. Sheba made her mistake. Her tragic death was a coincidence. I never paid tribute to her. Let's go to Xendale tomorrow to pay our respects in our hometown."

Roxanne and Lucian left, relieved that Yennefer had finally shed the burden and corrected her mistaken beliefs.

Jones thanked them profusely as they returned to the hall.

Lucian addressed Jones and Yennefer. "Since Mrs. Lann is well, we'll head home. Call us if anything arises."

Excitement filled James' face as he walked the couple to the yard. "Thank you so much, Lucian! Thank you, Roxanne! Without you, I'd still be running in circlesโ€ฆ"

Roxanne smiled gently. "Don't say that, James. You showed incredible filial piety. Mrs. Lann wouldn't have overcome her demons without your efforts!"

Lucian patted James' shoulder. "Don't forget, you have serious CEO responsibilities now."

"No problem. That's my responsibility!" James grinned.

Upon returning to their manor, Elias and Sonya pressed Lucian and Roxanne for an update. The couple recounted the events, sighing inwardly at the terror of Yennefer's ordeal and the fortunate resolution.

Sonya and Elias wanted to visit Yennefer but Lucian stopped them, explaining the Lann family's trip to Xendale. The older couple acquiesced.
