Chapter 1955: A Piece of Trash

“Mom, get dressed quickly. I’m taking you to meet someone important!” After berating her father, Yuliana lit a cigarette and sat down impatiently.

Winnie, briefly stunned, hurried to obey. Her daughter’s reference to someone “important” suggested a person of considerable influence, demanding a presentable appearance.

Grant, meanwhile, frowned, his frustration simmering. His attempts to repay his debts had cost Yuliana her wealthy boyfriend, leaving her jobless and forcing her to leave the country. He rarely interacted with his daughter, only occasionally speaking with her during her calls with Winnie.

Shortly afterward, Winnie emerged, looking presentable.

Yuliana gave a quick, approving glance, then led her mother downstairs and into a Mercedes-Benz. The luxury car, costing seven or eight hundred thousand, shocked Winnie.

“Yuliana, have you struck it rich?” Winnie exclaimed, running her fingers across the opulent interior.

Yuliana paused. “I met a wealthy man in Gerton. He’s a bit older, but he likes me and is generous.”

“Age doesn’t matter. Wealth is what counts these days,” Winnie replied, excitement growing.

Yuliana drove them to a five-star hotel. After showering and changing into a revealing outfit, she addressed her mother. “Mom, Mr. Ramos will arrive to discuss our wedding. Act sophisticated, demand at least ten million and two houses as a dowry. A year and a half after the wedding, I’ll create problems to secure a divorce. You keep the money safe.”

Yuliana’s ambition had been fueled by Roxanne’s success. The Gerton tycoon’s wealth would have sufficed, but being surpassed by Roxanne, someone she once considered beneath her, spurred her to use the tycoon as a stepping stone.

Overjoyed, Winnie unexpectedly lashed out at Grant.

“You and Dad divorced?” Yuliana was furious.

“Yes. It’s wonderful! You don’t need to worry about him anymore. We’ll be a family—you, your brother, and me. Grant’s a fool!” Winnie felt liberated from her dependence on Grant.

“Fine. Divorce is for the best. I never wanted him as a father anyway. He’s a piece of trash!” Yuliana sneered, her long-held hatred for her father evident. “I didn’t expect him to ingratiate himself with Roxanne. Has he forgotten how badly he treated her mother?”

Mother and daughter continued their scheming, awaiting David Ramos.

Meanwhile, Grant received a call from Jonas, who requested a meeting. At a Chinese restaurant, Grant detailed his interactions with Roxanne and Lucian.

A calculating glint entered Jonas’s eyes. “Good. You did well. Considering your recent financial struggles, here’s a million. Don’t pay your creditors. Freshen up your image. If anyone asks about the money, say someone invested in you.”
