Chapter 1962: Exploding With Rage

As night fell, Yuliana emerged from the clinic, touching her swollen cheek. The events of the day flooded her mind, leaving her trembling with rage. Despite her registered marriage to David, a wealthy businessman, their union was merely a title; he refused to join her in Horington. Consequently, she'd been actively trying to entice him to invest in a new company there.

Yuliana had assumed establishing a firm like the Flora Verba Group would be straightforward, given Roxanne's apparent success. She'd even contacted researchers from Roxanne's institute, hoping to lure them away with better compensation, believing that sufficient money would secure their defection and their technology.

Back at the five-star hotel, she approached the front desk to order room service. To her astonishment, the receptionist offered an apologetic smile. โ€œMs. Jarvis, I'm sorry, but you must check out due to unforeseen circumstances. Please pack your belongings.โ€

Yuliana's initial shock gave way to outrage. โ€œWhat do you mean? I have thousands of credits on my membership card! Why am I being evicted? I demand to speak to your manager!โ€

The receptionist remained impassive, apologizing again. Two security guards arrived, instructing Yuliana to leave; they implied force would be used if necessary. The hotel manager then appeared, informing her she would likely be refused entry to every hotel in Horington.

Stunned, Yuliana felt a crushing blow. โ€œWhy? What right do you have? I'll call the police!โ€ she shouted.

The manager's gaze hardened. โ€œMs. Jarvis, you've offended someone you shouldn't have. You've been blacklisted.โ€

Understanding dawned. Lucian! He must have orchestrated this.

Clenching her jaw, Yuliana packed her belongings and left the hotel in humiliation. Desperate, she called her husband, hoping for help.

โ€œHoney, I'm in trouble. Can you help?โ€ she asked with a hint of her usual coquettishness.

David's response was chilling. โ€œBuy a plane ticket and leave Horington tonight, or our marriage is over.โ€

Yuliana gasped. โ€œHoney, whatโ€™s wrong?โ€

Despite his Gerton base, David was a powerful figure with expanding interests in Chanaea. Yet, Yuliana found it hard to believe he was powerless against Lucian.

His next words were brutal. โ€œYou offended the Farwell family? Dragging me into your mess? Iโ€™ll give you money, but harm me, and Iโ€™m done. Your body is all that matters. If you don't return to Gerton, don't bother coming back. Keep the money I gave you.โ€

David, alerted by a call from the Farwells, finally understood his wife was nothing but trouble. He knew the Farwells' power extended far beyond Horington and he wouldn't risk antagonizing them.

After the call, Yuliana stood on the street, the cold air doing little to quell the burning rage within. She felt ready to explode.

โ€œRoxanne Jarvis, you wait! I won't forget this humiliation. May calamity befall you and your children!โ€
