Chapter 2029: Just Come To Me

โ€œHappy birthday, darling!โ€ Lucianโ€™s eyes held deep affection as he presented Roxanne with a rose. He then opened a gift box, revealing a dazzling gemstone emitting a soft blue glow; it resembled a star.

โ€œWow, what a beautiful gemstone! Daddy, this looks like the material used for the Astorian Star!โ€ exclaimed one of the children.

โ€œThe Astorian Star is located in Moranta. How did you manage to find something similar, Daddy? Itโ€™s very rare,โ€ another child added.

โ€œMommy, the gemstone is beautiful!โ€

Roxanne, sensing the considerable effort her husband had invested, felt a surge of warmth. She picked up the gemstone and kissed him. โ€œThank you, honey!โ€

As she spoke, the hall lights illuminated, and a birthday song began. Roxanne initially believed a professional singer had been hired, such was the melodious voice. She turned to find her mother-in-law, Sonya, singing. Roxanne was delightfully surprised by her mother-in-lawโ€™s unexpected talent. Soon, the housekeepers joined in, each smiling genuinely. Finally, Elias wheeled in a seven-tiered cake to everyoneโ€™s amazement. The children, thrilled, danced around the magnificent confection. Each layer showcased unique ingredients, creating a vibrant and stunning visual display.

Roxanne became emotional. Her past birthdays had been largely ignored, with few remembering the occasion. Only after having children did her birthdays become somewhat more significant, marked by a cake and their well-wishes. This year, however, was the most extravagant celebration she had ever experienced. Tears welled in her eyes, but she quickly composed herself, eager to partake in the cake-cutting. She served slices to the children, then her in-laws, and finally, to each housekeeper.

Amidst the laughter and joy, Roxanne, though abstaining from alcohol, felt exhilarated. She hoped for many more such days.

Madilyn had planned a week-long vacation for their trip to Horington. However, they only covered half the distance after seven days. The numerous scenic spots along Xandenia, visited during the off-season, proved unexpectedly time-consuming, leading Jonathan to plan additional sightseeing destinations.

Madilyn observed Jonathanโ€™s thoughtful consideration for her mother. He was attentive to every detail, meticulously discussing every wedding-related aspect with her. Each night, at the hotel, he urged Madilyn to share their room. Although mentally prepared, she hesitated. Each time, he remained impeccably gentlemanly, even insisting on an extra bed, showing utmost respect.

Madilyn almost wanted to tell him he neednโ€™t be so careful, but he seemed even more reserved than she. It seemed she would have to wait until their wedding night. However, his alluring scent after showering was difficult to resist. Every night, she battled wild thoughts as she watched him bathe.

That night, Madilyn was again banished from their room by her mother, leaving her to ring the doorbell of the opposite room, a helpless expression on her face, clutching a pillow.
