Chapter 2058: There Is No Problem

Lucian supported Roxanne throughout, providing a dependable shoulder whenever she felt overwhelmed. Upon their return home, the children greeted her with quiet hugs. "Mommy, you should rest," Estella said, gently rubbing her mother's belly and speaking softly to her siblings within. Archie and Benny nodded in agreement, promising to care for Estella.

Roxanne slept until eight o'clock that night, before Sonya called her to dinner. Entering the living room, she found a gathering of family and friends. Jonathan had arrived with his parents, Zachary and Henrietta. The Lannsโ€”James, Jones, and Yenneferโ€”were also present, as were Madilyn and Lorraine.

The women immediately surrounded Roxanne, offering comfort. Henrietta, with anxious concern, said, "Roxanne, you look exhausted. Please eat something. I brought supplements to help replenish your nutrition!" Yennefer's gentle eyes conveyed her support: "Roxanne, it's all over now. Let us know if you need anything." Lorraine, her face calm but her eyes showing a flicker of worry, softly offered, "Roxanne, is there anything I can help with?" Madilyn, after carefully observing her friend, pouted slightly. "Why didn't you tell me about something so major?" she asked.

Surrounded by such warmth and concern, Roxanne felt a surge of comfort. She shook her head, offering a small smile. "Don't worry, everyone. I'm fine. I'm a doctor; I've seen worse." She understood their worry, knowing they were unaware of her strained relationship with her father, Grant.

Sonya soon appeared with a bowl of warm, nourishing soup, urging Roxanne to eat. "Roxanne, don't worry about us," everyone chimed in, "Just eat!" Etiquette was forgotten in the face of their concern.

Roxanne ate in the kitchen. In the living room, the elders continued discussing the situation until Lucian reassured them that everything was resolved. Roxanne rejoined them, and after confirming her well-being, their guests departed.

Madilyn was the last to leave. Pulling Roxanne aside, she smiled and asked, "You're sure you're okay?"

"Madilyn, I'm really fine," Roxanne replied. "You know how I feel about Grant. It's just a bit sentimental, nothing more. I'll be back to normal soon. But I do have a question. Is it inappropriate to attend your wedding so soon after a funeral? I'm worried about customs."

Madilyn confidently shook her head. "There's nothing inappropriate about it. Even back home, it's acceptable, as long as you're not in mourning attire. And we're in Horington now; there are no such taboos here. I'm looking forward to you styling my hair tomorrow and seeing Essie's wedding dress! I can't wait!"

Roxanne's spirits lifted at her friend's enthusiasm. They chatted for a while before parting ways.
