Chapter 2064: A Changed Woman

That afternoon, Jonathan's younger sister, Frieda, returned from the north. Jonathan and Madilyn met her at the airport. It had been a long time since Jonathan had seen his sister, and he was surprised by her appearance. Even Madilyn, who had met Frieda only a few times, noticed her significant weight loss. However, Frieda didn't look haggard; she exuded a sophisticated air.

Upon seeing Madilyn, Frieda embraced her warmly. "Hey, Madilyn! I'm sorry I'm late. The project was critical, so I had to stay." Madilyn, slightly taken aback by the intensity of the hug, hesitated before lightly patting Frieda's back. "It's okay. We're just glad you're home. Everyone will be happy to see you!"

Jonathan, puzzled by the enthusiastic greeting, noticed his sister roll her eyes at him. "Jonathan," she said, "you finally made the right choice with Madilyn. You weren't seduced by Coralie in the end." Jonathan was speechless; it had been so long ago! He was surprised by his sister's transformation. She seemed brighter and less narrow-minded. What had happened to her in the north? He wondered about her relationship with Shawn. Many questions filled his mind, but he refrained from asking immediately.

Turning to Madilyn, Frieda praised her: "Madilyn, you're so beautiful and kind. And you're a doctor who saves lives! My brother is so lucky to have you!" Madilyn blushed, modestly deflecting the compliments. Frieda then announced she had brought many things back, including wedding gifts. "I've bought all the best things in the north," she exclaimed, "even supplements to help with early conception."

Frieda's transformation was striking. In the past, she wouldn't have been so lively, causing both Jonathan and Madilyn to blush. Their car couldn't hold all her belongings, requiring some items to be placed in the back seat.

Upon arriving at the Queen residence, they found Lucian and Roxanne already there. Roxanne, too, was surprised by Frieda's change. Yet, Frieda seemed to have forgotten past tensions, chatting naturally with Roxanne.

"Roxanne, I'm doing well in Horbah. I'm in the medicinal herb business, mostly cultivated herbs. If your pharmaceutical company plans to establish state agencies, could I contend for the Horbah position?"

Roxanne, impressed by Frieda's business acumen, considered the proposal. "That requires board approval," she replied, "but if there's such a plan, I'll definitely support you."

Frieda smiled, rummaged through her gifts, and presented Roxanne with a long box. "Roxanne, this is a tonic I had trouble finding! My mother told me you're pregnant, so use this to nourish yourself after childbirth."

Roxanne looked at her husband, stunned. Lucian smiled and nodded. "Take it. Frieda means well."
