Chapter 2068: Destroy the Evidence

As the wedding day progressed, Jonathan and Madilyn grew weary of the hectic schedule, complaining incessantly. Neither had anticipated such fatigue. Thankfully, the ceremony concluded at three in the afternoon, after the ring exchange and a passionate kiss.

"Wow! Who knew Jonathan had such a fiery side?" Lucian teased Roxanne, gazing at her. Roxanne, however, found the newlyweds' first kiss deeply romantic. When she turned, Lucian pulled her into his arms and kissed her fervently. Roxanne was surprised. Thankfully, they were backstage, away from prying eyes.

Soon, the reception began. Lucian and Roxanne had planned to attend, but Bill called with urgent case developments. Despite her anxiety, Roxanne composed herself, awaiting their turn to toast the newlyweds. After congratulating the couple, Lucian discreetly whispered to Jonathan, who readily agreed. Meanwhile, Roxanne arranged for Lorraine to watch her children, arriving soon with her parents. Madilyn reassured Roxanne, suggesting she leave early if needed, as the children were in capable hands. Relieved, Roxanne left for the police station with Lucian.

Bill met them at the entrance. "After Winnie's release, we discovered she called her daughter, Yuliana, who hired men now en route to Chanaea," he reported. "That's all I have."

Roxanne's heart pounded. "Do you think Winnie's trying to destroy evidence?"

"Her quarrel with Grant might not have been ordinary. She went to him because evidence remained at the Jarvis residence," Lucian surmised.

Bill nodded.

"Who did Yuliana hire?" Roxanne asked.

Bill and Lucian exchanged glances. Lucian narrowed his eyes. "Private investigators, I suspect, to destroy the evidence."

"As expected of Mr. Farwell!" Bill agreed, hesitantly. "But why so reckless after her investigation? It's unlike her calm demeanor. Could she be diverting our attention?"

"It doesn't matter. I have people watching them. Only her son, Yosef Jarvis, would cooperate now," Lucian muttered, immediately calling Cayden to assign twenty bodyguards to Bill. Bill, though respected, lacked the authority to readily deploy officers in his retired status.

Roxanne, increasingly anxious, declared, "We haven't searched my mother's heirloom thoroughly enough! Mr. Chapman, I'll return to the Jarvis residence with Lucian."

Bill watched them speed away. Shortly after, Cayden arrived with the bodyguards, and Bill commenced his work.
