Chapter 2080: Rest in Peace

The pain wracked Winnie's mind, eliciting a howl of agony that abruptly shifted into maniacal laughter. She bit her lip until blood spurted, her face contorting, eyes bulging.

With a sinister sneer, she glared at Roxanne. “So what if I poisoned your mother? She only has herself to blame! That bitch refused to divorce Grant and kept taking his money! She's no better than me! Hahaha...”

Rage flooded Roxanne, and she reached for the seventh needle. Lucian intervened, grasping her arm. He wouldn't let her rage blind her to the consequences.

Yuliana's eyes burned with anger as she watched her mother writhe. “How dare you treat my mother like this, Roxanne! I'm going to kill you!”

Roxanne had regained composure. Winnie's pain would soon subside. Her confession was recorded; further defense seemed unlikely. She would face justice; Roxanne hoped for a life sentence.

Suddenly, Winnie lunged at Roxanne and Lucian, brandishing a small dagger. With a malicious smile, she hissed, “Since you're such a dutiful daughter, how about I send you to join your mother?”

The bodyguards' momentary lapse allowed Winnie to approach. Yuliana struggled, desperate to help her mother.

Lucian pulled Roxanne behind him, his expression darkening as the blade approached. His pupils constricted. He swiftly kicked Winnie's arm, sending the dagger flying. The bodyguards finally reacted, attempting to restrain her, but Winnie broke free and sprinted to the mansion's roof.

“You'll never have your revenge, Roxanne! You'll never—” She fell.

Time seemed to stop. Yuliana collapsed; Yosef's eyes widened in shock. Winnie had committed suicide.

By the time Bill and the police arrived, Lucian and Roxanne were waiting in their car. Yosef and Yuliana were taken for questioning.

After inspecting the scene, Bill approached Lucian's vehicle. “Everything's fine. It's over. Winnie's death will be ruled a suicide. You can go home. I'll contact you if there are further developments.”

Lucian nodded, handing Bill the recording pen. Bill accepted it, then added, “We've also discovered Yuliana may have been involved in illegally siphoning public funds a few years ago. A significant amount was stolen. If charges are filed, she'll face prison time.”

Lucian nodded again.

Roxanne remained in a daze, clutching her ring. Mom, Winnie's dead! You can rest in peace now!
