Leaving the Country After Divorce, Chapter 239

Back in her room, Roxanneโ€™s expression was grim as she stared blankly at the bed. She never imagined she would encounter Lucian here, much less Aubree trailing after him. The thought of the three of them meeting filled her with dread.

A faint scowl creased her face. Without hesitation, she stood and began packing her luggage. She decided to avoid any trouble she couldn't handle; after all, she had nothing left to do in Bellridge, and her departure date was inconsequential.

Midway through packing, a knock sounded at the door. Slightly apprehensive, she called out, "Who is it?" Larryโ€™s voice answered from the other side.

"It's me. It's almost lunchtime. Shall we grab something to eat?"

Roxanne opened the door and let Larry in. Seeing her nearly finished packing, he asked, "What are you doing?"

"I'm thinking of leaving early, as I have nothing left to do here," Roxanne replied with an apologetic smile.

Lucian's brow furrowed. "Is this because of Aubree? Otherwise, why the sudden departure? You didn't mention wanting to go back, and you seemed fine this morning." Larry was aware of their conflict, so Roxanne didn't try to hide it, simply lowering her eyes in confirmation.

"What can she do to me with you here? We'll keep each other company. She wouldn't accuse me of anything with Mr. Farwell, would she?" Larry questioned.

"I just want to avoid trouble. There's nothing left for me here, and I can leave whenever I want. Why make things difficult?" Roxanne said with a faint smile.

After a moment's thought, Larry nodded. "You're right. There's not much left to do here. I'll go back too, since you're leaving. Let me pack my things." Roxanne nodded.

Soon, they had packed and checked out of their hotel rooms. As they turned to leave, they encountered Lucian at the entrance.

"Mr. Farwell," Larry greeted politely. Roxanne merely gave a cold nod.

Lucian saw their luggage. His brow furrowed. "You two are leaving?"

"The conference is over, and we have nothing further to do here. It's time for us to leave. Excuse us, Mr. Farwell," Larry said, then glanced at Roxanne, unsure if she wanted to speak.

Roxanne remained indifferent, leaving immediately with her luggage.

It was lunchtime, and Roxanne wanted to avoid Aubree. Seeing this, Larry followed closely behind.

As Roxanne reached the entrance, Lucian grabbed her wrist. She stopped and turned, seeing his hand on her arm.

"Mr. Farwell, please behave yourself."

Without releasing her, Lucian addressed Larry. "What time is your flight?"

"The earliest flight. You won't be able to book a ticket now. Mr. Farwell, you shouldn't delay us," Larry said stiffly, noticing Lucian's grip on Roxanne.

Lucian frowned, staring at Roxanne. "That's convenient. I bought a ticket for the same flight. Let's leave together."

"I suggest you keep your fiancรฉe company, Mr. Farwell. She's just arrived and is waiting for you. We'll be going now." Roxanne shook off his hand, spun around, and walked away without looking back.
