Chapter 365: All Thanks to You

After a short chat, Roxanne called Jonathan. He answered quickly.

"Dr. Jarvis, is something wrong?" They hadn't spoken since Alfred's birthday banquet, so Jonathan was surprised by her call. Roxanne remained calm. "Is Mr. Queen home? I was hoping to visit and check on his recovery."

Jonathan readily agreed. "That's thoughtful. He's home; please come over."

After confirming Alfred was home, Roxanne hung up, gathered her medical kit, and went to the Queen residence. The butler was waiting at the gates and greeted her respectfully.

"Ms. Jarvis, Mr. Queen asked me to meet you. He's waiting for you in the living room."

She nodded and followed the butler inside. While walking, she considered how to approach Jonathan later. Given Queen Group's relationship with Farwell Group, she didn't believe the former would be threatened by the latter. However, the medicinal herb manager's behavior was concerning. Unless Sonya had spoken to Jonathan, and he'd agreed to it, she doubted anything she said would matter. It was just speculation, and she'd gauge Jonathan's attitude later.

She continued to ponder, only regaining her composure as she reached the mansion's entrance. Her expression was calm as usual when the doors opened. Jonathan was working on the couch. Knowing Roxanne was coming, he'd rushed back from the office.

Seeing her, he put down his work and stood. "Dr. Jarvis, it's been a while."

Roxanne smiled calmly. "Where's Mr. Queen?"

After instructing the butler to serve tea, Jonathan led her to the back garden. "Grandpa knows you're coming and is waiting." Though Alfred had recovered, his age and prolonged hospital stay left him weak. He spent most of his time resting, with scheduled rehabilitation sessions. It happened to be rehabilitation time, but after learning Roxanne was visiting, he'd asked his caregiver to leave him alone. He sat in the warm sunlight, awaiting her arrival.

As soon as Roxanne entered, she saw Alfred basking in the sun, a cane beside his chair; he looked content. Relieved, she quietly approached him and whispered, "Mr. Queen." He'd dozed off and was still slightly dazed when he heard her voice.

He smiled and nodded. "Dr. Jarvis, you're here. Jonathan told me you offered to check on me. Thank you for thinking of this old man."

She smiled sheepishly, put down her kit, and checked his pulse. After a thorough examination, she said, "His condition has improved and stabilized. With some rest, he'll make a full recovery."

Alfred beamed. "I feel much better."
