Chapter 376: Smile and Say Nothing

Frieda was confused. Could Aubree have another plan?

Carefully, Frieda asked, "Aubree, do you have another way to teach Roxanne a lesson?" She found Roxanne incredibly annoying.

Aubree thought, Even if I did, why would I tell her? She's useless! However, she knew she might need Frieda's help later.

So she reassured Frieda, "Don't worry. I won't let that woman win. She's the reason you were scolded by Old Mr. Queen and Jonathan. I'll avenge you and make sure she gets what she deserves!"

Aubree skillfully shifted the blame to Roxanne. Frieda nodded vigorously.

"Since I met her, Grandpa and Jonathan have constantly criticized me. They sided with her! We need to teach her a lesson."

Aubree, satisfied with her manipulation, squinted her eyes. Patting Frieda's shoulder, she said, "Don't forget, we're not the only ones who hate Roxanne."

It took Frieda a moment to understand. "Oh, I forgot Sonya's plan to make things difficult for Roxanne. Roxanne won't get what she wants!"

Sonya clearly wanted to help Aubree defeat Roxanne. Sonya had always adored Aubree. She wouldn't allow Roxanne, who had returned after six years, to usurp Aubree's place. Moreover, Roxanne had left six years ago without saying goodbye, leaving only a divorce agreement. She had essentially dumped Lucian, bringing shame on the Farwell family. Sonya would never forgive her!

The more Frieda considered this, the more excited she became. Her anger vanished, replaced by a fawning grin.

"Mrs. Farwell adores you, Aubree. She must have acted against Roxanne because of you!"

Aubree, inwardly pleased, feigned concern, furrowing her brows.

"That has nothing to do with me. That woman is asking for it."

Frieda, glancing at Aubree's injured arm, said, "Roxanne returned a while ago, but Mrs. Farwell only acted after you were hurt. Do you still think it's unrelated? She only acted because Roxanne injured your arm twice."

Aubree looked at her arm, smiled faintly, and said nothing. She realized that if she hadn't been so ruthless to herself, Sonya might still have tolerated Roxanne. Her injury had forced Sonya's hand.

Frieda continued her flattery. "Mrs. Farwell adores you. She'll teach Roxanne a lesson for bullying you. You're her future daughter-in-law, after all."

Aubree's lips twitched.

"We have to wait for Lucian's decision."

Frieda dismissed this. "Mrs. Farwell is on your side. After she removes Roxanne from Horington, you'll be the only woman in Lucian's life. Who else could he marry? Just be patient. You'll be his wife soon."

Aubree agreed inwardly. The thought filled her with happiness.
