Chapter 598

Lucian had been diligently trying to improve his relationship with Roxanne. Estella's frequent inquiries about their status further fueled his efforts. Despite his best attempts, however, he felt he was making no progress. He was growing weary.

Jonathan, unsure of his advice, yet unwilling to see Lucian and Roxanne remain in a stalemate, gritted his teeth. "Why don't you just pursue her?" he suggested. "It's better than this guessing game. Isn't it exhausting? Tell her your feelings directly."

Lucian, brows furrowed, gestured for him to continue. He knew, though unwilling to admit it, that Jonathan had hit the nail on the head. Neither he nor Roxanne understood the other's feelings; moreover, Roxanne was hesitant to trust his intentions.

"You've done so much for her," Jonathan continued, "you have nothing to lose by telling her how you feel. If possible, ask her directly if she wants to reconcile, and offer a sincere apology."

Lucian, having never pursued anyone before, struggled to envision how to proceed, despite understanding Jonathan's point. He couldn't simply appear before Roxanne and blurt everything out; she might find it ridiculous and distance herself further.

"What exactly should I do?" he asked patiently.

Jonathan was surprised by the question, never imagining he'd be coaching his friend on pursuing a woman. Given Lucian's status, the very notion was astonishing. He could hardly believe his seemingly ethereal friend was seriously seeking advice on courtship.

Sensing Jonathan's surprise, Lucian frowned and kicked his friend's calf.

Snapping out of it, Jonathan smiled nonchalantly. "Buy her flowers," he suggested. "Most women appreciate flowers. Include a sweet note. That should work!"

He felt a pang of guilt. Truthfully, given his own status, looks, and family background, Jonathan lacked personal experience in courtship. His ideas stemmed from dramas and Frieda's delighted reactions to flowers from her admirers. He was, however, confident it was a good approach.

Clueless about romance, Lucian decided to follow Jonathan's advice. After pondering the flower idea, he nodded. "I'll try that."

Jonathan raised his glass. "To your success! May you and Dr. Jarvis reunite. And congratulations to Essie in advance!"

They clinked glasses. Despite their drinking plans, the conversation had left them both tired. Jonathan was yawning incessantly. Lucian, sensing his friend's exhaustion, didn't press him to stay and they parted ways.

Back at the mansion, Lucian called Cayden. Awakened by the call, Cayden answered, "Mr. Farwell, is there anything you need?"

After a pause, Lucian said, "Find the best florists in town and send me their contact information."
