Chapter 693: A Lot More Knowledgeable
Time was of the essence, so Roxanne calmed herself and asked Jack for an acupuncture kit. She administered treatment to stabilize Jamie's condition. Fortunately, Jamie was familiar with acupuncture, so he showed no fear. Roxanne, remembering Jamie's unique acupuncture points, exercised extra caution. She finished, her forehead drenched in sweat.
"I've spoken to Jamie's doctor," Jack announced from behind.
Roxanne tensed. "What did he say? Any useful information?"
"Malnutrition," Jack replied, frowning.
They both looked at the orphanage director standing in the corner. Lucian had donated generously through Queen Group, and they'd made a further personal donation. This shouldn't be happening.
The director sighed, noticing their gaze. "Jamie refuses to eat properly since arriving. He eats very little. We've tried, but he won't listen."
Their eyes returned to Jamie, who offered an apologetic smile. The sight pierced Roxanne's heart. She sat beside him and took his pulse.
Quickly, she determined the cause. Jamie had frequently skipped meals before arriving, causing digestive problems. Though he ate properly at the orphanage, the stomach discomfort reduced his appetite. His condition worsened until it reached its current state.
Tears welled in Roxanne's eyes.
"The cause?" Jack asked solemnly.
Roxanne stood, nodding. "I'll prescribe medication."
Jack fetched pen and paper. Roxanne, frowning, wrote the prescription. Jamie suffered not only from gastrointestinal issues but also developing anorexia. Treating the anorexia was crucial to prevent the recurrence of gastrointestinal problems. However, she couldnโt prescribe anything too potent for a child.
Her conflicted expression caught Jack's attention. "What's the problem?" he asked.
Roxanne explained her concerns. As the Damaris heir, Jack possessed more medical knowledge. He offered suggestions and modified her prescription. Within minutes, they finalized it, giving it to the orphanage director for preparation.
