Chapter 874: Find Me There
Sonya hadn't expected Elias's words. He'd consistently supported her, albeit implicitly, over the years. Now, however, he sided with his son. "Are we going to let Aubree down after all these years she's waited?" she pleaded.
Elias furrowed his brows, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. "Both are my family," he murmured, "yet their opinions clash."
After a long silence, he sighed. "Do what you want. I'm not good at this. I still have work to attend to. Have lunch on your own."
With his work commitments, Sonya could only reluctantly see him off. Though slightly dissatisfied, she gently reminded him, "Come home early. Don't overwork yourself."
He nodded and drove away. As his car disappeared, the butler's voice startled her. "Mrs. Farwell, you have a message."
Confused, Sonya checked her phone. Her heart sank as she recognized the unknown numberโthe same one that had sent photos yesterday. More photos arrived now.
Despondent, she hurried to the couch, scowling as she viewed the images. Roxanne and Jack were chatting happily; this time, the location was Roxanne's house. Her two sons stood nearby, watching. Sonya knew the children; Jack was clearly getting along well with them. The atmosphere seemed harmonious.
Sonya's face fell. The online discussions from the past two days flashed through her mindโRoxanne and Jack, intimate and together. The online speculation was no longer conjecture.
Furious, she rose.
"Mrs. Farwell, where are you going?" The butler followed, bewildered, as she headed for the door.
"I'm going to the Pearson residence," she replied coldly. "Tell Lucian to find me there if he returns."
"Understood," the butler replied, watching her drive away.
Sonya had considered asking Aubree to accompany her, but Aubree had just left. Calling her back seemed impractical; besides, she already owed Aubree a favor. Regardless of the photos, she needed to speak with Aubree. "Roxanne will stop at nothing," she thought, "that despicable woman. I won't allow her to marry into the Farwell family! I will maintain my dignity, let her be shameless."
