Chapter 962: Do Not Hide It From Me

After Benny left, Roxanne and Madilyn examined Nancy's resume. Madilyn's expression changed upon seeing the name of one of Nancy's former employers. Roxanne asked, "What is it?" Madilyn pointed to the research institute's name on the screen. "This institute is under the Pearson Group," she stated definitively.

Having lived in Chanaea for years and collaborated with most research institutes in Horington, Madilyn was intimately familiar with their backgrounds. Because of Roxanne's entanglement with Aubree, she'd paid close attention to those under the Pearson Group. Coincidentally, this was one she had worked with.

Madilyn's words caused Roxanne to frown. Carefully reviewing the information, Roxanne noted something about Nancy's departure from the Pearson Group institute. After leaving that institute, Nancy joined her current employer for six months before leaving with a newly developed bacteria. "It must be Aubree!" Roxanne exclaimed. "That woman is so vicious! How could she do this to the children? No wonder Mr. Farwell dislikes her," Madilyn added, her tone laced with displeasure.

Roxanne, though dubious, tried to calm Madilyn. "Don't act rashly. We don't have concrete evidence yet." Knowing Madilyn's protective nature, Roxanne feared her friend would confront Aubree immediately. As expected, Madilyn was displeased.

Smiling, Roxanne said, "Thanks to you, I found a crucial clue. I'll handle the rest myself." Aubree was cunning, and Roxanne didn't want to involve Madilyn and make her a target.

Madilyn, understanding Roxanne's concerns, gave her a dissatisfied look. "Archie and Benny are my godsons. Someone harmed them. How can you ask me to stand idly by?"

Roxanne quickly replied, "You've already helped immensely. Without you, I wouldn't have discovered this." She stood, took Madilyn's hands, and reassured her firmly, "Don't worry. I won't let those who bullied Archie and Benny get away easily. I'll contact you if I need help."

Unable to argue, Madilyn sulked. Roxanne patiently comforted her until Madilyn reluctantly relented. "No matter what, don't hide it from me," Madilyn insisted solemnly.

Relieved, Roxanne smiled and agreed. Madilyn then left, still somewhat unwillingly. Roxanne remained in the study, lost in thought.

If Aubree was behind the bacterial infection, then... her eyes darkened as she recalled Estella's recent infection. Aubree had been at the manor then, yet coincidentally remained unaffected. Roxanne hadn't thought much of it at the time. Now, with this new clue, she reconsidered that day's events, linking the two incidents. The coincidence was striking; Aubree was clearly connected to both. The more she considered it, the more uneasy she felt. Suddenly, she felt compelled to discuss her findings with Lucian.
