Listen to this chapter:

"My real name is Scarlett Brooks, Commander," Black Rose replied honestly.

"Alright, Scarlett. I would like to purchase the commercial city in Cansington. You'll be in charge of it. Henry will assist you behind the scenes, preparing everything for a low-price purchase. All you need to do is attract foreign investment and transform it into a top-tier financial center."

"Understood!" Scarlett nodded, unable to refuse his order.

"Henry."

"Yes, James?"

"Inform our men in the Southern Plains to investigate the ancient tomb of the Prince of Orchid Mountain and the mastermind who hired the Black Rose Gang to raid it. Also, identify the murderer who stole the treasure—was it a Black Rose gang member, or someone else?" James instructed.

Henry nodded and left. He immediately called Southern Plains Headquarters, ordering a full investigation using all available resources.

James looked at Scarlett. Her head was lowered, her body trembling slightly.

"Sit. Don't be so tense," he said, gesturing to a chair.

"I I don't dare," she whispered, close to tears. The man before her was the Black Dragon, who had swept across eighteen border countries, commanding the million-strong Black Dragon Army. She dared not sit in his presence.

"I already told you. The Black Dragon doesn't exist in Cansington. I'm only James here."

"Okay, Ja James," she stammered, finally sitting down. "Tell me what happened at the ancient tomb," James requested.

"Okay," Scarlett nodded and began her explanation. "About three months ago, we received payment and a map to rob an ancient tomb. We spent a month researching before entering. We navigated several traps, reaching the tomb's depths. Inside a crystal coffin, we found an ancient box with a key. Suddenly, all our electronic equipment malfunctioned; our flashlights died. Screams erupted in the darkness. I was closest to the box and saw a figure approaching the coffin. Panicking, I grabbed the box, but it was snatched away. I managed to keep the key. Shortly after, I was shot. I escaped with the key."

Since then, she'd been tracking the thief, finding clues that led her to Cansington. "I don't know who the murderer is, but they were incredibly strong. I'd be dead if not for my quick reflexes."

James listened carefully, analyzing her words. Henry returned, having relayed the order to the Southern Plains. He heard Scarlett's story. James glanced at Henry, who, having served him for years, understood immediately. Henry drew his gun, aiming it at the back of Scarlett's head.

Terror paralyzed Scarlett. She knelt, her forehead on the ground, begging, "I I don't know how I've angered the commander, but please spare my life!"

James looked at her indifferently. "Are there any lies in your story?"

"No, Commander!"

James gestured, and Henry holstered his weapon. "Okay, you can get up. Since you've come to me for protection, work for me with peace of mind. Remember, this is Cansington. There's no Black Dragon or Black Rose here. I'm James, and you're Scarlett. We'll need to slightly exaggerate your background. After all, how would an ordinary person buy a commercial city?"

After giving his instructions, James left. Scarlett breathed a sigh of relief. Her forehead was bruised and bleeding; sweat beaded on her pale face.

Henry smiled. "You don't have to be so nervous. James isn't as scary as the rumors suggest. He treats his subordinates well. As long as you're honest and loyal, you'll be fine. Betrayal, however, has consequences"

"I understand!" Scarlett nodded vigorously. "Let's complete his task! We need to purchase the trade center as soon as possible!"
