As soon as Kara heard that Johanna was planning to drag her to meet Kieran, her expression soured even further. She barely had anything to do with Kieran to begin with, and now Johanna was trying to create a scene by bringing her to him. What would Kieran think of her? A vain, lying fraud.

With that thought, Kara immediately wrenched her hand away from Johanna and ran to take refuge behind her dorm mates. These folks already had a poor impression of Johanna, and now, seeing her trying to pressure Kara into borrowing money, they instinctively shielded Kara.

“This is Summit University, not some place where you can throw your weight around! Mrs. Dawson, I’d suggest you leave before we decide to bring the faculty into this.”

Johanna was fuming after hearing these bold statements from the young girls. “Ungrateful bitch, I’ve provided for you, and this is how you repay me? You think they can protect you? You’re coming with me to get that money today!”

But Kara was determined not to let Johanna take her away. She shook her head vehemently in protest. Her dorm mates reassured her, “Kara, don’t worry, we’ve got your back. She can’t do anything to you. Let’s go.”

Kara remained silent. After all, these people were only friends with her because of her supposed connection to Kieran. If they ever found out she had nothing to do with Kieran, who knows how they would turn against her.
