"Huh?!" Hannah shrieked, panicked. "But I just donated fifteen million, as you said"

Charlie Wade said coldly, "So what? You're the mastermind behind today's scam. Do you think it's fair to punish Linda alone?"

"Yeah!" Linda growled. "She's the real culprit!"

Charlie Wade smirked at Hannah. "See? Even your accomplice agrees. You're going to the coal mine with her, to contribute to the Hope Foundation."

He pointed to Gianna. "And you too. All three of you will work at the coal mine to redeem yourselves."

Gianna cried, shaking her head and hands, knocking her head on the floor. "No, please! I'm innocent! Linda dragged me to play mahjong, that's all! I don't know anything about their plan!"

Charlie Wade said coldly, "Do you think I believe you? Be quiet, and I'll spare your family. One sound, and you, and your family, go to the coal mine with her!"

Gianna remained silent, trembling with fear.

Charlie Wade turned to Albert. "Albert, count all these bullies, including Hudson, and send them to the coal mine. They'll get the worst accommodation and food, a two-thousand-dollar monthly salary, and they'll work all year round! If they work hard and do overtime, give them a reasonable raise. If they're lazy, deduct their pay. They're not free until they donate three hundred thousand dollars to the Hope Foundation."

A two-thousand-dollar monthly salary means twenty-four thousand a year—more than a decade to accumulate three hundred thousand. Even with a three-thousand-dollar salary, it would take at least nine years.

Charlie Wade felt these gamblers should atone for the families they ruined and the children who suffered because of their parents' gambling. Sending them to the coal mine and requiring a donation was the best punishment.

Albert nodded. "Okay, Master Wade. I'll get a bus immediately."

Charlie Wade commanded, "Break their legs before putting them on the bus to prevent escapes."

"Understood, Master Wade. I'll break their legs here and cuff them with iron chains at the mine."

"Good," Charlie Wade nodded.

Hannah cried, pleading, "Charlie Wade, you can't keep me in the coal mine forever! I have a husband, children, and mother-in-law to support"

Charlie Wade said flatly, "Same rule applies. Leave when you've donated three hundred thousand dollars."

Hannah wailed, "No! We're family!"

"Family? You didn't think of that when you cheated my mother-in-law?"

Elaine Ma, who had been silent, shouted angrily, "Hannah Queen, you cruel bitch! You tried to con me, and now you talk about family?"

Hannah knelt, crying and begging, "Elaine Ma, I'm sorry! Please forgive me!"

Elaine Ma released Hannah and attacked Linda, slapping and scratching her face until it bled and swelled.

Linda cried, begging, "Elaine Ma, I'm sorry! I donated everything, including what I won from you. I have no money"

Elaine Ma continued her assault, scratching Linda's mouth until it bled. Elaine Ma was frantic, having lost all her family's money. She only had her house left.

Elaine Ma knocked Linda to the floor and slapped her repeatedly. A cracking sound came from Linda's pocket. Elaine Ma froze.

After a moment, Elaine Ma roared, "Bangle! My jade bangle!" She reached into Linda's pocket, yelping in pain as her fingers were cut. She retrieved a piece of the broken five-million-dollar jade bangle.

Elaine Ma sat on the floor, howling in despair.

Chapter 608

Elaine Ma was devastated. She'd lost two million dollars and broken her five-million-dollar bangle.

She turned on Gianna. "You didn't donate your money! Give it back, or I'll kill you!"

Gianna knelt, crying, "I only have sixty thousand dollars in my savings account. I'll transfer it."

Elaine Ma slapped her. "Show me your balance!" Gianna showed her sixty-three thousand dollars.

Elaine Ma turned on Charlie Wade. "It's your fault! Why did you let them donate? Why didn't you make them pay me back?!"

Charlie Wade said monotonously, "Mom, I saved your life. Nothing's more important than that!"

Charlie Wade ignored her. He'd made her lose the money to teach her a lesson.

Albert was angered by Elaine Ma's irrationality. What kind of mother-in-law is she?

Albert glared at her. "Don't disrespect Master Wade! I'll send you to the coal mine!"

Elaine Ma muttered, "It's none of your business." She pointed at Charlie Wade. "He's a liar! He's using you! Someday, you'll kill him!"

Albert slapped her. "If you instigate my relationship with Master Wade again, I'll kill you!"

Elaine Ma crouched in fear.

Albert bowed to Charlie Wade. "Master Wade, I'm so angry on your behalf! As a powerful man, why are you this shrew's son-in-law? You should just kill her!"

Chapter 609

Charlie Wade shook his head. "Forget it, Albert. Accept things, good or bad."

Several cars arrived, and Isaac brought five bound adults into the house. Terror was on their faces. A young man blurted, "Mom, what's going on?!"

Linda wailed, "I'm sorry! It's my fault!"

A man asked, "Dear, what's happening?!"

Charlie Wade said coldly, "Your wife is a con woman."

"I I didn't know" the man mumbled.

Charlie Wade smirked. "Bluffing? She's been at it a long time!"

He asked, "Which of you are Linda's children?"

A young man and woman raised their hands.

Charlie Wade sneered. "You graduated from prestigious universities. Do you know where your tuition came from?"

Linda's husband realized the situation. "Sir, did she cheat? How much does she owe? I'll pay."

Linda wailed, "Dear, we donated all twenty million, including the two million I won today!"

"What?! You donated it?! To whom?!"

Charlie Wade said coldly, "Hope Foundation!"

He reprimanded them, "Blood-sucking vampires! How many families have you ruined? You live luxuriously, send your children to good universities! Do you think you can get away with this?"

Charlie Wade continued, "I'm sending you all to the coal mine in Erith to atone for your sins!"

"What?!" the young people shrieked. A man yelled, "I'm not family, I'm her son-in-law!"

Charlie Wade nodded. "So? You're a microloan lender, right? How many young people have you ruined?"

Another young woman cried, "I'm just her daughter-in-law!"

Charlie Wade asked, "Your family owns an underground casino?"

Three buses arrived. Albert's men broke Hudson's and his gang's legs before sending them to the buses.

Charlie Wade said to Elaine Ma, "Mom, let's go."

Elaine Ma pulled Charlie Wade aside. "They filmed me, the shameful kind! Find it and delete it! If it leaks, I'll die!"

Charlie Wade was dumbfounded. He hadn't expected this.

He pulled Hudson toward him. "Did you film her?"

Hudson cried, "Sir, I'm sorry"

"Where's the video?"

"On my phone!"

"Did you send it to anyone?"

"No, no, I swear!"

Charlie Wade took Hudson's phone, gave it to Elaine Ma, and said, "Mom, delete it."

Elaine Ma deleted the video, then smashed the phone.

She growled, "I'll go after they're on the bus!"

Charlie Wade shrugged. "Okay, I need to go home to cook for Claire."

After everyone was on the buses, Elaine Ma threw the car keys to Charlie Wade. "You drive."

As they left, Elaine Ma cried, "Oh my god, I'm so unlucky! I lost two million, got sixty thousand back, and broke the bangle"

She glared at Charlie Wade. "It's your fault! Why did you make them donate? Why didn't you let them pay me back?!"

Charlie Wade said calmly, "Mom, if you took their money, and the police found out they disappeared, they'd track their past activities and find out you took their money. You couldn't clear your name, and Dad and Claire would know."
