Chapter 1106

Christopher said, "Mom said to buy meat at the vegetable market and cook lunch when you get back."

Hannah, slightly upset, replied honestly, "Okay, I'll buy some vegetables later and return."

Charlie Wade spent the morning with his wife Claire in their orchard. Claire, happy as an eighteen-year-old, diligently picked, watered, and weeded the plants. Elaine Ma anxiously awaited their return, eager to photograph their activities for social media.

Finally, they returned with a basket of produce. Elaine rushed downstairs, taking numerous selfies in the orchard. After basking in the sun and applying aloe vera, she carefully selected nine photos and posted them on her social media, writing, "Look at our vegetable garden! It's thriving under my careful cultivation!"

The post garnered numerous likes and comments. Many were amazed by the size and beauty of Elaine's garden. One friend, who had planted a small vegetable patch at her own villa, commented sarcastically, "Oh, Elaine, you're amazing! You grew so much. Did you actually pick these from someone else's field and lie about it?"

Elaine was furious. "I took these photos myself! I'll show you a bird's-eye view from the third-floor balcony!"

She went to the terrace, intending to take photos of the garden, when she spotted a suspicious figure on her phone screen. Someone was stealing vegetables! The person had already picked an eggplant, cucumber, and tomato.

Elaine yelled, "Hey! What are you doing? That's my food!"

The figure, startled, dropped the vegetables and ran. It was Lady Wilson!

Elaine raged, "You shameless thief! I'm calling the police!"

Lady Wilson, burdened with a basket of stolen vegetables, couldn't run quickly. She merely glared back at Elaine and spat.

Enraged, Elaine ran downstairs, bursting into the kitchen where Charlie and Claire were washing vegetables. "Our vegetables were stolen!" she exclaimed.

"Who?" Claire asked.

"Your thieving grandmother! Who else would be so brazen?" Elaine snapped.

Chapter 1107

Claire sighed upon learning of her grandmother's theft. "Mom, let it go. It's just some vegetables."

Elaine retorted, "That's not what you said before! What has she ever given us? I can't believe she'd show her face here after how she treated us!"

Claire shook her head. "Don't overthink it. Grandma probably just wanted a meal. Let's not be stingy."

Elaine accused Claire of always siding with her grandmother. Upstairs, she fretted over the stolen vegetables, fearing Lady Wilson would continue stealing. She confided in Charlie, urging him to protect their garden.

Charlie, having lived with the Wilsons for three years, understood their personalities. He considered most of them, including Elaine and Lady Wilson, to be untrustworthy, only his wife Claire and Jacob being exceptions. He had a plan.

He asked Elaine, "What's Lady Wilson's favorite dish?"

"Leeks!" Elaine replied. "She loves leek and egg dumplings."

Charlie called Mr. White, instructing him to deliver dozens of pots of daffodils – specifically, those with only green leaves, no blossoms.

Chapter 1108

Lady Wilson, upon returning home, questioned Hannah about the vegetables she had purchased.

Hannah, feeling guilty for having sold her coffee machine, had bought meat and vegetables to make a nice dinner. Lady Wilson scoffed at the purchased vegetables.

Lady Wilson revealed she had stolen a basket of vegetables from Charlie's garden. Hannah, noticing the quality of the stolen vegetables, realized they were superior to her own purchases.

Lady Wilson boasted about the freshness and taste of a cucumber, immediately eating it. Christopher, smelling the cucumber, asked for some. Hannah explained the origin of the cucumber.

Christopher questioned Charlie Wade's decision to grow vegetables in his yard, with Lady Wilson cheerfully suggesting that they should pilfer from his garden daily.

Chapter 1109

Mr. White delivered a truckload of daffodils, as requested by Charlie. The non-flowering daffodils closely resembled leeks. Charlie knew that Lady Wilson would steal again, so he had Mr. White plant the daffodils (poisonous) along the fence where they were easily accessible. His plan was to have Lady Wilson eat the daffodils, get hospitalized, and allow him time to secure the garden.

Chapter 1110

Lady Wilson, seeing the "leeks," became ecstatic, planning to make leek and egg dumplings.

Hannah bought eggs and noodles at Lady Wilson's request. The entire family anticipated the dumplings. Lady Wilson planned to steal more “leeks” from Charlie's garden.

Elaine Ma, seeking sun exposure, spotted Lady Wilson stealing again and berated her. Lady Wilson retorted with insults, escalating the conflict.
