Just as Kevin finished his supposedly daunting task, a burly man behind Don Albertt stepped forward, grabbed Kevin by the hair, and repeatedly slammed his face to the ground.

"Goddamn it! How dare you raise your voice at Don Albertt! Do you want to die?!"

He then grabbed Elaine Ma and slapped her repeatedly, shouting, "Damn you old hag! How dare you disrespect Don Albertt! I'll tear that foul mouth from your face!"

Boom!

Kevin and Elaine Ma felt as if they'd been struck by lightning. The man standing before them was the terrifying Don Albertt of Aurouss Hill! Blood drained from their faces; they looked as pale as ghosts.

Kevin reacted quickly. He threw himself to the floor, knelt before Don Albertt, and cried, "Don, I'm sorry! It's my fault!"

He never imagined that the man backing Axel Insurance was the notorious Don Albertt! His intention had simply been to curry favor with Claire Wilson's mother to get closer to Claire. Who would have guessed he'd offended the fearsome Don Albertt before he even achieved his goal?

The onlookers were shocked by the unfolding scene. They'd had high hopes Kevin would secure their refund, but no one expected to see him groveling like a peasant. Elaine Ma, previously arrogant, stood motionless after the repeated slaps.

Albertt grunted and said to his men, "Their mouths are filthy. Take turns slapping them ten thousand times each. Don't stop until you've finished!"

Kevin was terrified. Ten thousand slaps would kill him!

Don Albertt's man pointed at the miserable Elaine Ma and asked, "Boss, what about her?"

Albertt looked at her with disgust and said emphatically, "Same!"

Elaine Ma's legs turned to jelly. Would she survive offending Don Albertt? Some men seized Kevin, others Elaine Ma, and the brutal punishment began.

He hadn't wanted to intervene when his mother-in-law was being beaten. She'd always been so haughty and stubborn; a lesson might do her good. However, ten thousand slaps would seriously injure, if not kill her. How would his wife react? If Elaine Ma was harmed, Claire Wilson would be devastated! He couldn't stand idly by.
