The Amazing Son in Law
Chapter 1761
Just as Nanako Ito looked up at the sky, missing Charlie Wade, he watched from a hiding place on the wall. He finally saw her moving figure in the courtyard below. Having bypassed the Ito mansion's security and circled the perimeter, he saw Nanako Ito, the woman who constantly worried about him.
Seeing her in a kimono and light bun, Charlie Wade sighed. "They say Nanako Ito is a standard Yamato Nadeshiko. It's no exaggeration; she's the most beautiful and perfect Japanese woman I've ever seen." However, her wheelchair caused him some embarrassment. She could have forfeited the final against Aurora, but her persistence had resulted in significant physical trauma.
He wanted to jump down and meet her, but worried that a sudden, dramatic appearance might be embarrassing or even frighten her. How could he explain his actions? Even Charlie Wade, known for his excellent composure, hesitated.
Meanwhile, hundreds of kilometers away in Tokyo, Matsumoto continued his cruel game. While his subordinates held Fitz and Zara captive, awaiting an opportune moment to kill them, another group began a new scheme in Tokyo. Like the Joker in Batman: The Dark Knight, he intended to manipulate and eliminate his targets one by one. This time, his target was Takahashi Eiji.
He felt that the Fitz and Zara kidnapping hadn't sufficiently alienated their families. He needed to create a bloody feud, believing that only bloodshed could drive them to madness. That evening, he targeted the already injured Takahashi Eiji.
Eiji, a young man in his prime, despite his arm injury, still pursued his active social life. He was known as a playboy, with many famous actresses among his lovers. Recently, he'd begun a relationship with the lead singer of a popular girl group, who happened to be appearing on a TV Tokyo variety show that day.
Ignoring his father's warnings about staying home, Eiji arranged for his subordinates to drive him to a luxurious club in Shibuya.
Chapter 1762
This high-end club housed a private room, his regular haunt for clandestine meetings with Japanese actresses. A convoy of three Rolls-Royces carried Eiji, excited for the evening.
As the convoy passed through an underpass, a truck suddenly braked, blocking the road. Black vehicles appeared behind, trapping the Rolls-Royces. The bodyguards reacted, drawing their weapons. However, numerous armed men in black emerged from the other vehicles, overwhelming the bodyguards with superior firepower.
Eiji, his driver, and assistant—all unarmed—were now completely vulnerable. Terrified, Eiji called his father: "Dad! Save me! I'm surrounded by killers!"
Maki Takahashi exclaimed, "Aren't you home?! Where are the killers?!"
Eiji cried, "Dad, I'm in Shibuya… surrounded! The bodyguards are dead! They're coming for me! Save me!"
Maki felt a wave of dizziness and roared, "Tell them I'll pay anything! Just keep him alive!"
The attackers surrounded Eiji's Rolls-Royce. Eiji leaped from the car, screaming, "Please don't kill me! My father will pay you anything!"
The leader grinned. "Money? The Ito family doesn't care about money! We want the Takahashi family's lives! We'll start with you."
Eiji collapsed, wailing, begging for mercy. Maki pleaded over the phone, "Let my son go! Something's coming for me!"
The leader sneered, "Oh? Still on the phone with Mr. Takahashi? Good. Listen to your son's death throes."
He raised his gun to kill Eiji, but hesitated, seeing the tears in the young man's eyes. Eiji, thinking he was spared, cried out, "How much? My father will pay!" He offered $100 million.
The man chuckled grimly. "You've overestimated yourselves. I'm just changing the game."
He ordered his men to bring gasoline, intending to burn the car and its occupants alive.
Chapter 1763
The next five minutes were the most agonizing of Takahashi's life. He couldn't bear to hang up, knowing his son’s last words might be his last. Yet, he knew his son would suffer a horrific death. Could he bear to hear his son's screams?
The men doused the Rolls-Royce in gasoline, ignoring Eiji's cries. The leader lit a cigarette, then tossed the burning match into the car.
The luxury car became an inferno, Eiji's screams echoing like hellish cries. Maki wept on the other end of the phone. The screams lasted over a minute, then ceased.
Takahashi knew his son was dead, possibly beyond recognition. Rage consumed him.
"Ito Yuhiko! You killed my son! I'll kill your family!" He contacted the Tenglin family's temporary patriarch, coldly demanding revenge: "The Ito family killed my son! I want you to kill Ito Takehiko's daughter, then Ito Takehiko himself!"
The Tenglin representative responded, "Don't worry, our men are watching the Ito mansion in Kyoto. Ito Yuhiko's daughter hasn't left. We can kill her tonight!"
Takahashi roared, "Kill her now! Behead her! Let Ito Yuhiko hear my son's death throes and see his daughter's head!"
The Tenglin representative agreed, "We'll kill Nanako Ito."
Meanwhile, in Kyoto, the snow fell heavily. Charlie Wade had observed Nanako Ito for ten minutes, watching her play with the snowflakes. As he prepared to approach, he noticed several dark figures approaching at high speed – ninjas, likely from the Tenglin family.
Chapter 1764
Charlie Wade hid and observed as the ninjas scaled the wall and attacked Nanako Ito. Nanako, despite her injuries, was a martial artist and sensed their presence. She considered calling for help, but realized that even the household staff couldn't stand against these six skilled ninjas. Therefore, she decided to face them alone to protect the others.
The leader sneered, "The Ito family's eldest daughter is indeed extraordinary." He drew his sword, stating their intent to kill her as retribution for the deaths of four Tenglin family members and Takahashi Eiji.
Hearing this, Charlie Wade was shocked. "Takahashi Eiji is dead? Tokyo is far from peaceful."
Nanako protested, "Impossible! My father wouldn't do that! It's a misunderstanding!"
The man scoffed, "He froze four Tenglin masters and burned Takahashi's son to ashes! A misunderstanding?!"
Nanako insisted, "I know my father. He has a moral compass. He wouldn't use underhanded tactics!"
The man sneered, "You don't truly know Ito Yuhiko! But you'll have a chance to ask him once he’s gone." He ordered someone to show the video of Takahashi Eiji’s death to Maki Takahashi.
The ninja raised his sword, ready to kill Nanako, who closed her eyes, whispering, "Charlie Wade-kun, see you in the next life…"
The leader sighed, "Miss Ito, I'll make it quick. Hopefully, you won't be born into wealth in your next life!"
Just as the sword fell, a shuriken struck the ninja leader, killing him instantly. Charlie Wade had finally intervened.
Chapter 1765
The other ninjas recoiled in surprise. They realized the shuriken was from Tenglin Quintongtian, confirming Charlie Wade’s presence. Terror gripped them, remembering the deaths of Tenglin Zhengzhe and Quintongtian. Another ninja was killed by a second shuriken.
The remaining ninjas formed a defensive formation. Suddenly, another ninja fell, struck by another shuriken. They realized the attacker was on the wall.
A dark figure jumped down, calmly walking toward them. Nanako's eyes widened as the figure revealed himself: Charlie Wade.
