The entire Aurouss Hill was enjoying the extravagant wedding celebration through the hazy, frozen crystal glass. While extremely envious of the couple and their setting, they questioned who the couple holding their wedding in the Sky Garden was. Furthermore, they found it strange that only the two of them were present; not a single family member or friend, not even a witness!

On the crystal stage, Charlie Wade took Claire Wilson's hand and presented the jade pendant he had prepared.

"Claire Wilson, this is my wedding anniversary gift for you. I hope you like it!"

Claire Wilson stared at the crystal-clear jade pendant and exclaimed, "This… isn't this the prized possession of Emerald Court? Charlie Wade, how and where did you get this?"

Claire Wilson was astonished. Was Charlie Wade the mysterious billionaire in the video? How else could he possess this pendant? But it didn't make sense. She knew Charlie Wade well—how could he be that man? He didn't seem wealthy at all!

Charlie Wade saw the shock and bewilderment in Claire Wilson's eyes. He had a sudden urge to reveal himself, to tell her who he really was—the offspring of the Wade family in Eastcliff, heir to trillions.

However, a serious thought struck him. He knew nothing of the Wade family's current situation! He remembered meeting his uncles as a child—meaning his father wasn't his grandfather's only son. If so, his uncles would have children too, who would inevitably see him as a threat to their inheritance.

If he revealed his identity before securing information about his family and protecting himself and Claire, it would endanger her life! Inheritance disputes were treacherous and vicious, and he didn't want his wife to face such dangers because of him.

So, he quickly fabricated a lie. "This pendant may look exactly like Emerald Court's prized treasure, but it's a counterfeit I had someone make. It's fine jade, but different from the original. It only cost a few hundred dollars."

He looked at her anxiously. "Claire, do you still like it knowing it's fake?"

Claire Wilson breathed a sigh of relief. It made sense now!

She smiled happily. "Dumdum, of course, I like it! You've done so much for me, I'm very touched!"

Charlie Wade was relieved and quickly put the pendant on Claire. He looked at her seriously. "Claire, we've been married for three years, and I've only caused you trouble and embarrassment. I'm sorry. From now on, I promise no one will bully you again!"

Claire nodded, feeling grateful and happy. She realized her husband was finally going to stand up for himself and be a man.

After the wedding, Charlie Wade and Claire silently left the Sky Garden via the private elevator. The onlookers were stunned. Did they just leave like that? After displaying so much affection, they simply departed?

Overnight, the grand wedding at the Sky Garden became the city's hottest topic. However, the wedding couple remained unknown.

Charlie Wade drove his modified BMW 520 home with Claire. Claire was still in blissful joy. "How did you book the Sky Garden? They've never allowed that before."

Charlie Wade smiled coyly. "Honestly, a senior executive at Dreamland is an old friend from the orphanage. We shared hard times, and I always shared my steamed bun with him. So, when I asked for a favor, he agreed."

Claire responded gently. "Oh, I see. Why haven't I heard this before?"

"I have many friends from the orphanage; it would take three days to tell you about them all. I never mentioned it because I thought you didn't like hearing about it."

Claire said earnestly, "You're my husband. Of course, I'm interested in your past. I'm very interested."

Charlie Wade chuckled happily. "Okay then, I'll tell you more!"

Back in their apartment building, Charlie parked downstairs. As they left the car, they encountered Claire's parents returning home.

Elaine Ma, Claire's mother, shrieked upon seeing them. "Claire, where did the BMW come from?"

Jacob Wilson, Claire's father, had sparkles in his eyes. "Wow! A BMW! Claire, is this your new car? You're quite the spendthrift, huh!"

Claire quickly explained, "Mom, Dad, I didn't get the car; it's Charlie Wade's."

"Charlie Wade?" Jacob Wilson frowned, curious. He turned to Charlie. "Where did you get the money to buy this car? You didn't use Claire's money, did you?"

Charlie waved his hands frantically. "No, Dad, I bought it with my own savings"

Elaine Ma pulled Jacob and circled the car, then pouted. "Huh! You're living under our roof, we pay for your food, and you don't even know how to flatter us when you buy a BMW! You ungrateful bastard!"

Claire hurriedly said, "Mom, don't say that about Charlie Wade"

Jacob Wilson said enviously, "Huh, he even bought a 520. I think a 3 Series is enough for him to show off!"

Elaine Ma said coldly, "I'm telling you, your father doesn't even own a car! At his age, you'd better let him enjoy life more. Otherwise, it will be too late!"

She added demandingly, "Why don't we do this? Give the car to your father as a gift and let him use it!"

Claire looked at Charlie, pursing her lips. "Charlie Wade, what do you think?"

Charlie didn't mind, but the car wasn't a 520; it was a 760! He thought a BMW 760 was wasteful for his father-in-law. He quickly devised a reason. "Dad, this is a BMW 520, the cheapest 5 Series, the 'beggar' version. I'm afraid people might tease you when you drive it."

Elaine Ma frowned. "Why? You don't want to give it to us, do you?"

Charlie waved his hands hurriedly. "Let Claire use this car, and I'll get you a 530. It's a class higher than the 520 and will improve your status, don't you think?"

Elaine Ma frowned again, curious this time. "You still have money to buy a 530?"

"Yes, I still have some money. I only made a down payment for this car. Don't worry, I'll take you car shopping tomorrow morning!"

Wide smiles spread across the in-laws' faces when Charlie said he'd buy them a better car tomorrow. Jacob didn't know he'd just missed out on a top-spec 760.

Claire was a little worried. After returning to their room, she quietly asked, "Do you really still have the money to buy a new car? I have some savings here, take it tomorrow!"

Charlie waved his hands quickly. "No, I don't need your money. I still have some; it's enough."

Claire mumbled apologetically, "I'm so sorry, I didn't realize my parents would be like this"

"What are you talking about? Your parents are my parents too. We are a family. I'm glad to be able to shower them with gifts occasionally."

Charlie lay on his small floor bed and said with a gentle smile, "Don't worry, I'll get a new car for Dad tomorrow morning!"

Claire smiled comfortably. "Thank you, Charlie Wade!"

Charlie chuckled. "The pleasure is mine, my dear!"

Claire suddenly blushed. "Will you be cold at night sleeping on the floor?"

Charlie said confidently, "No, it's not cold at all. Don't worry, I'm alright!"

Claire smacked her lips in annoyance. "Then go on and sleep! Dumdum!" She wanted him to sleep in the bed, but he didn't take the hint

He suddenly realized he’d missed her point

He frantically said, "Uh, dear, it's so cold, I'm shivering now!"

Claire huffed. "If it's cold, add a quilt."

Charlie felt incredibly regretful and depressed. After a moment, he tried again, "My dear, I think it's getting colder now, I'm so cold!"

Claire kicked a patchwork quilt to the floor. "How cold can it be on a summer night? If you're still cold, I'll get a jacket for you!"

Charlie was so disappointed in himself. It seemed his wife wouldn't let him sleep tonight!

The next morning, Claire prepared to go to work early. Charlie made her breakfast. He handed her the car keys. "Drive to work today."

Claire was a little hesitant. "It's your car. Can I use it?"

"Why not? You're my wife. I bought the car for you, not for myself."

Claire responded delicately, taking the keys. "Thank you!"

Jacob Wilson was extremely jealous, "Charlie Wade, you do remember buying me a car today, don't you?"

Charlie said promptly, "Just wait for me to drive the new car home!"

Jacob Wilson smiled from ear to ear. "Then I'll wait at home! BMW 530, you promised it yourself, don't get the wrong car!"

Charlie chuckled and nodded, "Father, don't worry, I'll get you a BMW 530 today!"

He went downstairs with his wife. He opened the trunk of the BMW 760 and took out his electric scooter.

Claire drove to work while Charlie rode his e-bike to the BMW showroom. He passed the Audi showroom on his way.

The Audi showroom staff spotted Charlie. One salesperson blurted, "F*ck, it's the e-bike guy who got the BMW 760!"

"D*mn, I'm going to stop him and convince him to buy the top-spec Audi A8 even if I have to lick his boots!"

"Yes!"

Suddenly, many Audi salespeople rushed out and surrounded him.

"Sir! Please come and see the latest top-spec Audi A8 in our showroom!"

"Sir, our A8 is very powerful. It uses a W12 engine, which is better than the BMW 760 V12 engine!"

Charlie raised his eyebrows oddly. "Really? Is it that great?"

An Audi salesperson stepped forward. "Sir, let me explain. Our W12 engine is split into two sides, and one side can be turned off as you please."

Charlie roared contemptuously. "Are you out of your mind? Why would I get a twelve-cylinder car and shut off 6 cylinders to save gas? I can just get a six-cylinder car!"

The salesperson's face turned red. He'd misspoken.

Charlie smirked. "I know what you're thinking. You're angry I bought a BMW 760 next door the other day, and you want me as your customer today, no matter what, am I right?"

The salespeople nodded profusely.

Charlie grunted. "Let me tell you, it's too late! You ignored me the other day. Today, I'm out of your business!"

Honk honk!

He honked his scooter horn. "Get out of my way, I want to go to the BMW showroom to buy a car!"

The BMW salespeople rushed out yelling, "You Audi losers, what do you think you're doing? Are you trying to steal our clients? Don't you see he doesn't even want to listen to you? Get out of his way! If you block his path again, I'll call the reporters and expose you!"

The Audi salespeople sighed and walked away.

The BMW showroom manager greeted Charlie personally. "Mr. Wade, would you like to buy another car today?"

Charlie replied, "Do you have a BMW 530? Cash and carry!"

"Yes! We do!"

The manager was overjoyed. A 760 yesterday, a 530 today—a generous customer!

"Sir, please follow me, I'll show you the car."

Charlie hummed and followed him. He sat in the BMW 530 and realized that while the exterior was similar to the 7 Series, the interior was far inferior. However, it was glamorous enough for his father-in-law.

He was about to get his card out when he heard a familiar voice, "Oh my dear, I really like the BMW X6! Could you get me one, please?"

Charlie looked towards the voice and saw Lily, Douglas's fiancée, with a stranger, speaking in a coy and intimate manner. "Lily called the man 'dear.' Is she cheating on Douglas?"

A surge of anger flared within him. He hated disloyal women. Douglas was working hard while she was cheating!

The man grinned, pinched Lily's face, and said, "You're my woman now, why are you still with him? I don't allow other men to touch my woman!"

Lily hurriedly coaxed, "Don't worry, Jerome, I haven't let him touch me since we got together. He's so dirty! My body is always yours, only yours, exclusively for you alone!"

She continued, "I wanted to break up with him as soon as the restaurant opened, but I didn't know that loser has a resourceful friend who helped me get rid of Scarface at the redevelopment area. Wait until the business is on track—I'll ditch him and kick him out of the restaurant then!"

Jerome laughed pompously. "It's just Scarface! If you'd told me earlier, one call, and his boss would come and apologize to you directly!"

Lily laughed happily. "Oh, Jerome, you're my hero! It was urgent at the time, so I didn't manage to contact you. Douglas was there, I was terrified you'd be upset to see him!"

Jerome pinched her waist seductively. "You're such a good girl!"

Lily rubbed herself against him. "Jerome, could you buy me the BMW X6 now? Please"

Jerome smiled haughtily. "Later, baby. We'll go to my place first, let me 'feed' you a few rounds. You ditch that loser, and I'll buy you the X6 tomorrow!"

Lily squealed happily. "Jerome, is it true? Will you really buy me the X6 tomorrow?"

"When have I ever lied to you?" Jerome smiled. "But you need to make me happy first!"

Lily considered him coquettishly. "You mischievous dog! Don't you worry, you'll be in heaven when we get to your place later!"

They turned and left.

Charlie was furious. He immediately called Douglas.

Douglas's shocked voice was heard. "Charlie Wade, how are you? Why did you call so suddenly?"

Charlie said emphatically, "I just want to check in. What are you doing now?"

"I'm busy at my restaurant, of course. Lunch hour is approaching, and customers will come soon, so I'm here to help."

"Do you go to your restaurant every day?"

"Of course! We're just starting, and there are many things for me to manage. Besides, most of the restaurant's capital was Lily's father's money. They'll look down on me if I don't work harder."

"How much did you invest in the restaurant?"

"A hundred grand. That's all my savings since graduation."

"Who is the owner of the restaurant?"

"Me, of course!"

"Is your name on the business registration?"

"No, Lily's father's name is used to register our business. Lily and I aren't married yet, so it's not good to put my name because he invested most of the capital."

Douglas continued, "But her father promised he will change the ownership of the restaurant to my name when Lily and I get married."

Charlie shook his head in dismay. This fool didn't even know he was being used! Lily treated him like a servant, planning to kick him out! He had no legal claim to the restaurant. Once Lily betrayed him, he would get nothing—not even his hundred grand!

Charlie asked Douglas directly, "Where is Lily now?"
