The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 1891-1895
Chapter 1891
Cynthia questioned the beauty salon clerk, who stammered a response. Cynthia knew the salon wasn't seeing clients that morning and was furious at being refused entry.
"I'm sorry, ma'am," the clerk said, "we're not accepting clients this morning. Ms. Elaine Ma had a pre-booked appointment."
Cynthia, enraged at being denied access to this "shabby beauty salon," threatened the clerk.
"Don't let me in?" she snarled. "You'll regret this!"
The clerk, realizing Cynthia's expensive attire suggested she was influential, cautiously asked her boss for instructions.
Cynthia impatiently waved her hand. "Hurry up! I haven't got all day!"
The clerk rushed to the boss's office. He was busy collecting valuables, planning to abscond with the shop's funds after receiving $200,000 from Harold. This was a common scam in the industry, targeting prepaid members.
The clerk burst in. "Boss, a woman demands entry! I can't stop her!"
The boss frowned. "What woman? Didn't you tell her we're closed to new clients this morning?"
"I did!" the clerk protested. "But she mentioned Ms. Elaine Ma's appointment, and insisted on coming in."
The boss panicked. "You don't know Elaine Ma?"
"No, sir."
"Alright," the boss said, "I'll handle this."
He approached Cynthia, immediately sensing her wealth and influence.
"Madam, what can I do for you?" he asked nervously.
Corran (presumed to be a typo, possibly intended as Cynthia) replied coldly, "Your salon is open, yet you refuse entry? What's the meaning of this?"
The boss stammered, "We have a full booking for the morning, ma'am. Please come back later."
Chapter 1892
Corran (presumed to be Cynthia) said, "I'm not here for services. I'm looking for Elaine Ma. I need to speak to her privately."
The boss, relieved it wasn't a service request, coldly replied, "If you're not a client, leave. We don't offer private meeting services."
Cynthia's bodyguard produced $50,000 in cash. The boss's demeanor instantly changed.
"What service can I provide, madam?" he asked smoothly.
Cynthia stated her request: "Take me to Elaine Ma. Thirty minutes, no interruptions. This is your payment."
The boss considered Harold's plan to drug Elaine Ma. This unexpected opportunity seemed profitable.
"Easy enough! Ms. Ma is bathing. Please wait in the spa room."
"My bodyguard is staying outside," said Cynthia. "Our clubs are female-only; even I can’t enter the private area," the boss commented, adding that the men were not permitted in the private service area. Cynthia agreed and sent her bodyguard outside.
The salon had a complex layout: reception, hallway, bathing area, and finally the spa rooms, situated deep within the building to minimize noise disruption.
Chapter 1893
The clerk led Cynthia to a spa room.
"Please wait here, madam. I'll bring Ms. Ma."
Cynthia gave the clerk $10,000 to ensure Elaine Ma wasn't forewarned.
Cynthia examined the room, unimpressed. She had intended to buy Elaine Ma's silence with a billion-dollar check but reconsidered, deeming it excessive for such a seemingly unsophisticated woman. She decided on a $100 million check instead. She laid out a Hermes scarf and sat down.
Chapter 1894
Elaine Ma, still enjoying her milk bath, eventually called for service. Meanwhile, Harold and Christopher waited outside with accomplices.
Harold called the boss: "Ben, is Elaine Ma incapacitated? I'm waiting at the back door!"
Ben, wanting his $50,000 first, stalled Harold, promising to drug Elaine Ma after her bath.
Ten minutes later, Elaine Ma emerged, requesting a towel and disposable underwear for modesty. She was then taken to the spa room where Cynthia waited.
Upon seeing Cynthia's extravagant attire, Elaine Ma immediately questioned its authenticity and took offense to Cynthia’s appearance, leading to a heated argument over the legitimacy of their respective Hermes bags. Elaine Ma showed off her own Hermes backpack. Cynthia countered by claiming her's cost more than 100 of Elaine Ma's. This led to an escalating argument, with Cynthia claiming hers cost fifteen million dollars and Elaine Ma mocking her.
Chapter 1895
Cynthia, ignoring the argument, revealed her business proposition: $100 million for Elaine Ma to convince her daughter to divorce Charlie Wade. Elaine Ma, incredulous, tore up the check. Cynthia, undeterred, offered $200 million. Before she could write the check, Elaine Ma slapped and then kicked Cynthia. An enraged Cynthia protested, but Elaine Ma continued to beat her, furious over the attempted bribery. Cynthia, shocked and injured, screamed in protest about the wasted check and the indignity of the beating.
