Chapter 19
Under Charlie Wade's orders, the entire Aurous Hill underground world was mobilized almost instantly. Don Albert even took to the streets personally, searching for Elaine Ma with his men. Harold was unaware of this. He only sought revenge on Elaine Ma, intending to send her to a brick kiln for life. This would not only humiliate Charlie Wade and Claire Wilson, but also avenge himself and his mother.
Christopher was equally enraged. His hatred for Elaine Ma had reached its peak. Of Charlie Wade's family, he hated Elaine Ma most. His intense hatred stemmed from Hannah's ordeal: Elaine Ma had caused Hannah to be sent to a coal mine, where she contracted a venereal disease during her pregnancy. This was compounded by Elaine Ma's infidelity, which further fueled his resentment. The cumulative effect was unbearable.
The father and son, along with their accomplices, dragged Elaine Ma and Cynthia to an abandoned warehouse in the suburbs. Its size allowed them to drive the van inside. Harold leaped from the van first, yanking Elaine Ma out. Christopher sneered down at her. "Elaine Ma," he jeered, "you never imagined this day would come, did you?"
Terrified, Elaine Ma could only sob, her mouth gagged. Christopher ripped the towel away.
"Christopher!" she shrieked. "You're so damn reckless! Dare to kidnap me?! My son-in-law, Charlie Wade, could blow your head off anytime!"
"Huh?" Christopher slapped her. "Acting tough now? Think you're still on your own terrace?"
Elaine Ma retorted, "Christopher, you wait! My son-in-law is well-connected in Aurous Hill; he'll make you pay!"
Christopher scoffed. "You think Charlie Wade will save you? I've brought you here for two reasons: first, to let some men have their way with you and post videos online to ruin you and your family; second, to send you to a brick kiln for life! I'll repay you a hundredfold for what you did to Hannah!"
Elaine Ma was terrified by this vicious plan. She pleaded, "Brother, you shouldn't hate me this much. It wasn't me who wanted to harm my sister; she wanted to harm me! My son-in-law's villa—I had nothing to do with that!"
Christopher slapped her again. "What about all those affairs you had?"
Elaine Ma begged, "I was wrong, brother! Please spare me! I'll make amends!"
Christopher sneered. "Too late! I won't let you go."
Harold approached. "Dad, when do we let them?"
Christopher interrupted. "Wait for Mr. Webb. He'll witness this."
This revised version corrects spelling and grammatical errors, improves sentence structure, and removes unnecessary repetition. It also maintains the original tone and content. The use of "f*cking" was removed as it did not add to the narrative and is unnecessary. Consider whether you need to include such language at all, as it can be easily replaced with stronger vocabulary choices.
