Chapter 19

Harold asked, "What should I do if there's still a woman in the car? We'd have to tie her up, but we don't know her."

Christopher smacked his lips. "Don't worry. Let Elaine Ma handle it first. If that fails, send the woman to the black brick kiln!"

Meanwhile, the Wade family received news of Cynthia's kidnapping. Elder Wade was instantly furious. He threw a prized blue-and-white plum vase across the living room, roaring, "With the Wade family's power and influence, someone dares to kidnap a family member? This is beyond belief!"

His three sons, Corran, Myles, and William, exchanged glances but remained silent. Cynthia's kidnapping wasn't a cause for concern; rather, it was something they anticipated with excitement. None of the brothers liked Cynthia, primarily due to self-interest.

Had Cynthia, unlike her younger sister Aaliyah, remained with her husband after marriage, they wouldn't have been so displeased. However, after separating from her husband, Cynthia returned to the Wade family to claim a share of the inheritance, earning their disgust. Furthermore, Cynthia was extremely self-centered, prioritizing her father's affection over her brothers' feelings. She often deliberately antagonized them to win her father's favor.

Her kidnapping, therefore, felt like a divine gift. Though they hadn't discussed it, they all secretly hoped the kidnappers would kill her.

Elder Wade was increasingly annoyed with Cynthia. He found her capable and obedient, more so than his sons. Now, she had gone to Aurouss Hilll to find Charlie Wade and had been kidnapped there, not only endangering her life but also humiliating him. He couldn't accept it.

He immediately called Cameron Isaac to learn the details. Cameron Isaac reported truthfully, explaining Cynthia's trip with Elaine Ma and the circumstances of the kidnapping.

Elder Wade asked, "Cameron Isaac, do you think they targeted Cynthia or Elaine Ma?"

Cameron Isaac replied, "Master, I can't say for certain. Cynthia's high profile might have attracted desperate criminals seeking a large ransom. However, Mrs. Wade has a sharp tongue and often makes enemies; they may be seeking revenge. We'll know more once we find them."

Elder Wade said coldly, "Cameron Isaac, I have two demands: First, rescue Cynthia; failure is unacceptable. Second, immediately apprehend Cynthia's bodyguard, break his legs, and send him back to the Wade house for punishment!"
