Chapter 1911

Donald opened Cynthia's Hermès bag with fear. Inside, in addition to the checkbook, was a nameplate bearing Cynthia's name. People's nameplates aren't usually carved by ordinary individuals; there's typically no need for them. However, enterprise leaders and senior management almost always have them. Many money-related businesses require a corresponding name stamp, especially for cashing checks. Furthermore, the font of such a seal is generally unconventional, so Donald clearly saw the words "Cynthia Wade" engraved on this one.

Seeing Cynthia's nameplate, Donald's blood pressure surged; he could barely stand. He even felt suicidal. It felt like the Wilson family and his son had been tasked with catching a dog, only to inadvertently capture a tiger—a tiger backed by an extremely powerful family.

Donald cried out angrily in his heart: "What the hell is this! I just wanted to teach Elaine Ma a lesson, not kidnap the young lady of the Wade family! This is Christopher, Harold, and his son's doing, but Cynthia immediately pinned the blame on me"

Cynthia, noticing Donald's conflicted expression, realized he believed her identity. She hurriedly said, "Mr. Webb, I know you intended to target Elaine Ma, not me. This is a misunderstanding. If you release me, I won't pursue today's events. In the future, I will promote cooperation between the Wade and Webb families. What do you think?"

Donald was somewhat moved. He saw only two options: kill Cynthia or try to salvage the situation. The first option required ensuring the Wade family couldn't trace him after the murder.

He beckoned to Christopher, saying coldly, "Old Wilson, come. Let's talk privately."

Christopher followed him to the warehouse door and whispered, "Did you deliberately avoid surveillance while kidnapping these women?"

"No," Christopher replied. "After picking them up from the salon, the driver used the navigation app's suggested route."

Donald's legs gave way, and he nearly collapsed. Christopher steadied him. "Mr. Webb, what's wrong?"

Donald asked angrily, "Didn't you find a hidden spot to change vehicles en route?"

"Change cars?" Christopher asked, astonished. "Mr. Webb, that wasn't necessary, was it? It was just two women. We just bundled them into the car and drove off."

He added, "Mr. Webb, I always suspected something was off about Ms. Cynthia, but her story was convincing. I almost believed her, but after careful consideration, something still feels wrong!"
