How could he not know the fate awaiting the Webb family? Cynthia would undoubtedly fight back, and the Wade family would certainly support her. Even at its height, the Webb family was no match for the Wade family; now, weakened by Charlie Wade, it was utterly insignificant. Before the Wade family, they were less than an ant.

Donald feared the Wade family might completely destroy his already beleaguered family. Overcome with emotion, he pleaded, "Master Wade, Ms. Wade, I was unaware of any offense. Please forgive me."

Cynthia loathed Charlie Wade intensely but dared not show it openly. Instead, she vented her rage on Donald, snarling, "Webb, I, Cynthia, will not let you go! I'll make sure you have no proper burial!"

Donald was devastated. Damaged family reputation and dwindling assets were bearable, but the Wade family's complete annihilation of his family was unthinkable. Ruin would be catastrophic.

With tear-filled eyes, he begged Charlie Wade, "Master Wade, please help me. This is a misunderstanding. If the Wade family forgives me, I will relinquish 20% of my shares! I implore your mercy."

Cynthia sneered, "Twenty percent? Fifty? A hundred? It's meaningless to me!"

Charlie Wade waved a hand. "Even that is meaningless. To me, it's nothing." He then addressed Donald: "Mr. Webb, you kidnapped my mother-in-law and my aunt. Let's make it 40%. In the future, follow my orders, and the Wade family will leave you alone."

Donald felt a mix of joy and despair. Relief that a solution existed, yet grief at the 40% share cost, almost crippling the Webb family.

Cynthia, still seething from the day's events, was unable to vent her anger on Charlie Wade. Donald remained her only target. If Charlie Wade prevented this, she would be left with the two kidnappers – insignificant individuals.

She raged, "Charlie Wade! I decide whether he's spared, not you! My grandfather has the final say!"

Charlie Wade responded calmly, "I've offered Donald a solution. His acceptance renders your objections irrelevant." He then turned to Cynthia, his voice sharp, "Furthermore! Don't assume my years away from the Wade family make me subservient to you. I will not allow the Wade family to use me to further their ambitions with other powerful families! So if you dare betray me again, I will show no mercy to you or anyone else in the Wade family!"

Cynthia, undeterred, shrieked, "Charlie Wade! Do you think you can challenge the Wade family? Your Emgrand Group, your ten billion—all gifts from the Wade family! They can elevate or destroy you! Without them, you're nothing! Destroying Donald is child's play!"

Charlie Wade, amused by her hysteria, raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Really?"
