Xion looked at Kairi and nodded heavily, tears choking her. "Mom, don't worry, I'll come back to see you alive!"

Kairi touched her face with her one arm. "After you go back this time, don't return to the Banks family for a while. Stay with Mom at Grandma's house, and then go back when this is over."

Xion murmured, "Mom, take care of yourself."

Kairi whispered, "Don't reveal to anyone who was caught with you that you were saved. Only you can leave this time. If they know, it might cause trouble."

Xion sighed softly. "Okay, Mom, I know."

Kairi nodded, and Xion reluctantly left. The soldiers returned Xion to her cell.

However, Xion's heart was filled with gratitude for Zayne. Even though she was his illegitimate daughter, and he didn't recognize her, he'd paid a great price to rescue her—far beyond her expectations, and deeply moving. She had been prepared to die, but seeing her mother, Kairi, had rekindled her hope.

Eastcliff, 10:00 PM.

The Wade family watched the Spring Festival Gala. Claire Wilson seemed agitated. "The online program list says Stefanie's solo is at 10:10. It should be almost time!"

Charlie Wade nodded, feeling a touch of anticipation. Although he knew Stefanie was a big star, he hadn't seen many of her movies or TV shows, nor heard much of her music. This was largely due to his personality; he wasn't interested in entertainment.

However, he cared more about Stefanie—his childhood friend and his parents' former choice for his fiancée. He and Claire watched, eagerly awaiting her appearance.

At 10:10, the host announced, "They say first love is the most beautiful feeling. Next, film, television, and music star Miss Sun Stefanie will sing her new single, 'First Love.'"

Stefanie, in an elegant gown, stepped onto the stage.

Claire Wilson exclaimed, "Wow! Stefanie's outfit is beautiful!"

Charlie Wade nodded in agreement. Stefanie's long hair was coiled neatly behind her head, making her seem demure and alluring.

Elaine Ma looked at Stefanie. "Oh my, this girl is pretty! Much prettier than those actresses!" She added regretfully, "With Claire's looks, she could be a star too. She's not inferior to Stefanie at all."

Claire Wilson laughed. "Mom, you're exaggerating! I can't act, and I can't sing."
