Chapter 2036
Elaine Ma said seriously, "What's the point? These days, you don't need acting skills or a good voice to be a star; just being pretty is enough! Look at those big stars—they release albums and act in movies even though they can't sing or act well. Not a good-looking one yet!"
Claire Wilson shook her head helplessly. "Mom, stop it. Let me finish the show properly"
Elaine Ma added, "Claire, what Mom said is true. I think you're really fine"
At that moment, Stefanie began to sing. The instant she opened her mouth, Elaine Ma exclaimed, "Wow! That girl has an amazing voice!"
Stefanie quickly waved her hand. "Mom, don't say anything yet!"
Charlie Wade was also surprised by Stefanie's voice. While she seemed like just an idol star, her singing showcased exceptional skill—definitely professional level. The song was melodious and refreshing, reminiscent of the Diva's "Legend."
Charlie became completely engrossed. Five minutes later, after Stefanie finished, he was still lost in the beautiful atmosphere her singing created. Claire's eyes welled up. She unconsciously applauded, lamenting, "Stefanie's singing is incredible! This song is so moving!"
She then said to Charlie, "Hubby, Stefanie's having a concert in Aurous Hill soon. Will you come with me?"
Charlie felt embarrassed. He'd promised Stefanie, but taking Claire would feel awkward. He sighed inwardly: "I didn't want to divorce Claire or break the marriage contract my parents arranged with Inan, but taking her to Daisy's concert feels unfair to Daisy"
As Charlie hesitated, Claire said coquettishly, "Hubby, just come with me once. Please, whether you like it or not" She added, "I'll get the tickets. If I can't, we'll buy them from a scalper. Don't worry about it!"
Charlie knew Claire was determined to go, even if he didn't agree. He'd also promised Stefanie, so he couldn't break that promise. He could only agree.
"Wife, don't worry," he said. "I'll definitely go with you." He added, "Oh, and don't worry about tickets. I did some feng shui for Miss Sun's family last time. She should give me some face and get us two front-row tickets."
Claire exclaimed, "Honey, are you serious? You can get front-row tickets from Miss Sun? Her front-row tickets are incredibly sought-after and rarely released to the public. Scalpers sell them for several times, even dozens of times the price! In Eastcliff, front-row tickets went for 100,000 each—the same as the White Diva's tickets that year!"
Charlie smiled. "Miss Sun is very generous. I'm sure she'll help us out."
Claire was thrilled. "That's amazing! Thanks for being so supportive of my… star-struck career!"
Just then, Charlie's phone buzzed. It was a WeChat message from Stefanie: "Charlie, did you watch my performance on TV?"
