Chapter 2051

Jasmine was bored. She hadn't anticipated the difficulties in negotiating with New Japan Railway. The entire process had been passive; despite meticulous preparation, she'd failed to secure cooperation, even using her final bargaining chip. Frustration mounted, and she sensed the negotiation was unlikely to yield her desired results—it felt futile.

On her way back to the hotel, she shared her concerns with her family. While Master Moore was disappointed, he remained encouraging: “Jasmine, don’t pressure yourself too much with New Nippon Steel. Securing the deal is great, but if not, it’s no loss—just less profit. It doesn’t matter.”

Rueben also messaged: “Yeah, Jasmine. New Japan Railway is notoriously difficult. Many Chinese companies have tried to cooperate deeply, but none have succeeded. You have nothing to lose if this doesn't work out.”

Rueben’s words rekindled Jasmine’s competitive spirit. The more others had failed, the more determined she became to succeed; otherwise, she'd be another in a long line of failures.

However, unsure of her chances, she cautiously messaged the group: “I’ll make one last effort tomorrow. Success or failure, we'll move on.”

Moore replied, “It’s fine. Don’t stress over success or failure. Grandpa doesn’t want you to jeopardize your health for business, understand?”

Jasmine felt reassured: “Okay, Grandpa, I know.”

Rueben added, “Jasmine, I believe in you. I’ll be waiting for good news tomorrow morning!”

Jasmine knew this was reassurance, so she sent a smiling emoji: “Brother, I’ll share my good fortune then!”

Back at the hotel, Jasmine's boredom led her to skip dinner. Alone in her room, she reviewed her negotiation plan, searching for flaws in her approach with New Nippon Steel. Lost in her work, she didn't realize it was 10:00 PM until her doorbell rang.

She looked through the peephole and saw her assistant. The young woman said, “Lady Moore, you haven’t eaten. Would you like me to order something from room service?”

Jasmine, feeling hungry, agreed: “Okay, anything is fine.” She then asked, “Have you all eaten?”

The assistant replied, “Yes, we have.” Jasmine smiled, “That’s good.”

Twenty minutes later, a waiter delivered the food. Jasmine closed her computer, preparing to eat, when she received a call from Hashimoto Kon.
