Chapter 2070

Jasmine survived the dangerous situation thanks to the pill Charlie Wade had given her. Charlie hurriedly asked Nanako, “Did your people find Jasmine’s whereabouts?”

Nanako shook her head. “They’re tracking Miss Moore’s trail, but haven’t located her yet. However, I’m sure they’ll find her, as she’s alive.” She added, “The police have sent numerous officers to West Domo County to search. Their helicopters will facilitate a quicker, more extensive search, so I believe they’ll find Miss Moore soon.”

Charlie shook his head, his expression grave. “It seems someone tried to assassinate Jasmine. If the Tokyo Police Department finds her, the person behind this won’t be able to remain hidden, and I fear they’ll retaliate.” He asked urgently, “Is the helicopter ready?”

Nanako nodded. “It’s at the helipad, ready to go!”

“Good. Get to the incident site immediately!”

Helicopters quickly departed from Narita Airport, traversing much of the Tokyo metropolitan area toward West Domo County. The usually peaceful West Domo County was now bustling with activity. Thousands of Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department officers and special operations team members swarmed the area, with police helicopters equipped with powerful searchlights hovering over the mountains.

Meanwhile, Ito clan ninjas were in the valley, pursuing Jasmine’s trail. Since Jasmine wasn’t trained in evasion, her movements were easily tracked. The lead ninja cleverly pursued her while simultaneously erasing her tracks, ensuring no one could follow. Even if the Tokyo Police Department found the destroyed commercial vehicle, they wouldn’t find any evidence of Jasmine’s survival.

The extensive police search, including aerial support, quickly led them to the wrecked commercial vehicle. Several helicopters then proceeded to the valley, deploying twenty to thirty heavily armed special operations officers to secure the scene. They initially found two bodies in the vehicle. Further searching revealed Jasmine’s assistant, Clarice, halfway up the mountain.

The officer in charge radioed headquarters: “We’ve found the scene; the vehicle matches the surveillance footage. Three bodies were found: one identified as Ms. Chen, who was with Jasmine; the other two are completely charred, identifiable only as a man and a woman, but the woman’s identity is unconfirmed.”

The commander-in-chief responded, “Anything else? CCTV footage shows four people in the vehicle—the driver, Jasmine, Clarice, and Deei. There should be four bodies!”

The task force leader replied, “Only three bodies were found. Given the severity of the accident, survival is impossible, and there are no signs of life.”

The commander-in-chief was perplexed. “This is wrong! Four people were in the vehicle, yet only three remain. Where’s the fourth?”
