Chapter 2088

"Please speak, Old Master," Charlie Wade said attentively.

Master Moore's voice trembled. "Master Wade, I beg you to go to Japan. I fear only you can save her…"

Master Moore still believed Charlie Wade was in Aurous Hill; Charlie hadn't revealed his presence in Japan. However, he no longer concealed his location. "Master Moore," he said, "I'm actually in Tokyo. I'll do everything I can for Jasmine."

"Master Wade, you're in Tokyo?!" Old Master Moore exclaimed, surprised and relieved. "When did you arrive?"

"Last night," Charlie Wade replied truthfully. "Upon hearing about Jasmine's accident, I had Shangri-La's Cameron Isaac arrange a flight."

"Master Wade," Master Moore said gratefully, "Jasmine is incredibly fortunate to have a friend like you! With your power, I'm sure you can save her." He added hastily, "Rueben also arrived in Tokyo last night. Shall I have him meet you and follow your instructions?"

Charlie Wade frowned at the prospect of meeting Rueben. He wasn't particularly interested, but considering Rueben was the prime suspect, a meeting wouldn't hurt. He could gauge Rueben's reaction firsthand.

"Master Moore," Charlie Wade said, "have Rueben call me. I'll tell him the time and place."

"Yes, yes!" Master Moore exclaimed. "I'll contact Rueben immediately! Let him assist you in Tokyo!"

"Okay, have him call me," Charlie Wade agreed.

Meanwhile, Rueben fretted in his hotel room. His trip to Japan had seemed straightforward: retrieve Jasmine's body, discuss arrangements with his family, return to Aurous Hill for the funeral, then administer the Alzheimer's medication his father had prepared for his grandfather, effectively turning him into a dependent. His meticulously crafted plan had hit a major snag. Jasmine's body was gone.

Just as he felt cornered, a phone call arrived from Master Moore—his eighth call of the day. Seeing "Grandpa" on his phone, he muttered, "Damn old man! What the hell do you want? You'll drive me mad!" Despite his irritation, he answered.

His voice immediately shifted to respectful, self-reproaching sadness. "Grandpa, I'm sorry. Still no news from the Tokyo Police Department, but I'll keep pushing them!"

"Rueben," Master Moore said, "I have something to tell you."

"Grandpa, command me," Rueben replied eagerly.

"Master Wade is also in Tokyo," Master Moore announced.

Rueben was shocked. "What?!" he gasped.
